You need to give up a lot more for kuznetsov. The conversations starts with your 2020 1st</div></div>
Agreed that the value is off, but I am also intrigued. Caps need to get younger, faster, and are a capped team with few high end prospects in the system. RD is #1 offseason priority. Will likely want a fairly inexpensive veteran G to share the net with Samsonov for 1-2 years. IMO Orlov (who I really like) is a smart asset to move -- he's a very good LD, and the Caps have younger, cheaper options there, particularly if they resign Dillon as UFA. Is there a trade that you can imagine that meets Caps needs a little better? Thanks.

Orlov out
Very interested in this page, thanks. While I agree that Lundqvist is probably a happy fantasy, I think I have the same operating idea that you do, <a href="/users/Capitalfail67" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Capitalfail67</a>. If (hopefully) the Caps resign Dillon, and have Siegs and Fehervary on cheap contracts, then Orlov, while a good, solid, 2nd pair (2nd pair plus?) D man on a reasonable contract, becomes expendable as a tool to improve the right side where Carlson and Jensen are the only NHL/NHL-ready RD the Caps' have. (#1 offseason need.) So, without blowing up the whole team structure (by which I guess I mean keeping Kuzy, if at all possible)... I am curious who people think are reasonable RD targets for the Caps to pursue within their cap constraints, and what Orlov could fetch in a trade. Vatanen as a UFA is appealing (as are DeMelo and Van Riemsdyk, to lesser degrees), but I wonder if he is going to get more than 5x$5mil as a UFA. Curious about Ilya Lyubushkin (Coyotes RFA), but I don't know a ton about him besides him underlying numbers look good. Wondering if Dumba or Adam Larsson could be trade targets. Any other RD who seem like reasonable adds? Thanks.

It's honestly difficult to envision where the Capitals will be in three seasons, but Tom Wilson is widely perceived as the captain-in-waiting. The return will have to be substantial. The Caps would need to perceive their window as shut, and at least one of the prospects would have to project as top line/1st pair for them to even consider it, I would think.

Washington Capitals fan... feel good at LD, weak at RD. (Just on sheer numbers and Capitals' cap situation, I think they could move Orlov, keep Siegenthaler, Fehervary, and are apparently feeling good re keeping Dillon.)
What does it take to get <strong>Dumba</strong> to DC? Assuming Wild don't see Orlov as a particularly good fit (above average LD, but that's not a Min area of need ), and Kuznetzov is theoretically available, but he surely costs more than Dumba. Interested in any of your thoughts, thanks.

What are their values
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Suzuki_Cup</b></div><div>No way Brodin or Dumba gets you a 1st line center. It took a young #4 ovr Seth Jones to move Ryan Johansen, who is not close from being the best #1 in the league, so forget it for a 26 yo who has 1 season over 34 pts and a 27 yo who has 1 season over 25 pts. Even Petry, who has way better numbers and who is pretty reliable defensively doesn't get you a lot more than a mid aged 2nd center.</div></div>

There are only a handful of guys like that traded every decade, and they cost a fortune. If we recognize someone as a franchise player on an attractive salary, their team almost definitely does too. :-)
