Don't really see the Avs trading arguably the best overall Dman on the planet for Jones. Nice to dream though.

Eller didn't work for the Avs the first time so they are probably not going to sign up for playoffs and another year at 2mil ... insta NO on that part. And the if all the Avs want is some one to put up 4 points in a half a year and be a pylon, they have a few guys that will fill that roll that we won't owe another 2mill for 2 more years. Not saving cap, as only 4mill is owed to RYJO vs the 6 that will come with this deal (4mil next yr and 2 the next). We'll just stick with the garbage we have, thanks.

Why are the Avs moving a top 4 D with term and a 3rd for a 4th line nobody rental? This type of thinking is why the Jacket's can't make the playoffs let alone get a cup.

Trade For Cole Sillinger Because Of Ex Tate
So let's get this right. You want the AVs 2021 1st rd pick, thier 23' 1st rd pick, their current first round pick and a top 4 D thats cost controlled for the next several years for a R D rental that would slot in our 3rd pair and a slumping $5mil winger that we don't need that would only make the 3rd line. Are you high?

The Avs have no use for another D man. Plus they would not trade a 1st ++ for a guy that would only slot 6 or 7th in our line up. You might want to actual figure out what teams need before posting. By the way, the Avs need a 2C maybe a back up G.

I know that this may be a foreign concept for any Canadian under 30. But We just won the cup not too long ago (3x since anyone up north), and we are not in to blowing up several future years of our squad, for a one and done shot at the cup. See above.

Someone will. Not the Avs , not that prospect. Not the way the Avs front office works.

Rumors deadline
Rumors - NO. Wishful thinking - YES. Avs have been waiting patiently waiting for Kova's KHL contract to end to bring him over for a couple years now, even signing him early (burning a year of ELC) just to be able to have him here at the end of the season. SM is not an elite talent,. He is not a clear up grade for the Avs at C and will not command that type of return. A 1st is pushing it for SM, he will net you all a 2nd and a good prospect. We only gave up a 2nd and a B prospect (Barron) when we got Lehky from them. Lehky >>>>Mony. The package you are suggesting here is a Lindholm type offer (and there would be a large chunk of the Avs nation that would be P.O. about losing Kova for him as a rental) not Mony, Nice thought. Try again.

I was just thinking on that swap. I like it. Avs final get an affordable and possible replacement for Kadz (we have only been looking for that for 2yrs now) although he is fairly one dimensional , his defensive flaws can be covered by Nuke, Lehky, or even Landy (if he can make it back). Ducks get their future #1. If it was a perfect world I'd move G, but BB is going to need a raise at the same time as Rants. If Landy does come back next year, someone has got to go. G is a perfect 2nd pair D and cost controlled.

I do have to say I was a little sad to see Jed in double nickels. i suppose they have to give it away at some point. But 70 was by far the most noticeable today for the avs.

Avs lose in the first round to Seattle with Francouz stapled to a high chair.
You don't exactly need premium insurance for that.
And thinking a 20+ scorer like Kubalik would be the Avs' 13th forward playing 4-8 minutes means that you're as high as a kite on every forward playing for the Avs.
Classic case of the endowment effect.
Look it up.

In the first round against Seattle last Spring, he never did.
That was more recent than the Cup run.
Any goalie making league minimum could have done what Francouz did.
Which was sit on a bench.
Guessing you missed that bit.</div></div>
I'm guessing you missed the part about pretty much in contention to lead the league in injuries last season. I 'm guessing that had more to do with getting tossed in the 1st rd than Frankie on the bench. And last year the whole 1mil we'd have saved still wouldn't have got us through the first.

Money spent on a backup goalie is better spent on more pressing needs.</div></div>
Not when they sweep the the Oil in the WCF when the starter goes down. I would rather spend the 1mil extra for that kind of insurance than a 13th forward that May see 4-8 mins a night under Bednar.

Why would you think that COL is even looking for "takers" on Frankie? The Avs won't resign him but they have no reason to move him this year.

Why would the Avs make that trade? What would motivate them to move a top four D with term and affordability for a more expensive rental that wouldn't sit any higher that Sammy on the depth chart, an overager underperforming prospect and a 2nd? It's got to be the 2nd. Please pray tell why o why? MacF suddenly get a TBI from a wayward puck?

To the limit
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ArakinSkywalker</b></div><div>I think you have to either go Patrick or Bailey here. Both i think would be good for 3rd line at this time in their career, kind of make or break that could bring depth scoring, but having both is overkill because whoever ends up on 4th line you won't get what you want from them. Neither are role players and wouldn't bring the energy that you would want for a center between cogs and oconnor.
The same pretty much goes for bear. We have lots of puck moving dmen, 4 of the 6 are that in our current roster and about 90% of the pipeline is as well, i think if we do bring in another D it would be someone with more size and grit to be able to handle the dirty minutes and long playoff push, and most likely take mansons spot when he inevitably gets injured.
As for white, i think his contract pretty much says his worth, he'd be waived at some point during the season especially when kovalenko comes in.</div></div>
I don't think that they are going to improve the roster at this point, only give it depth. I figured on one of Patrick or Bailey falling on their face. I think of Bear more as a two way, but ok. Bear just provides depth while getting a "loan" on the cap. They can keep one more waiver eligible player on the roster longer to see what they got.
