If these numbers work with burying Murrays contract rather than a buyout then I'm all for it. Good job

Semi agree. Coming back from two down is definitely doable but think we might have lost the mental battle already if that happens. Need a big game tonight

I'd probably be willing to add the other prospects mentioned but not sure about adding an additional 1st on top of Nylander.
Anyway this will never happen but would make for a very strong line-up

Shoot for the stars
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>Neither Woll or Robertson should be in a trade for Korpisalo. The Leafs might need a 3rd string guy just in case but they should be going for someone that costs like a 4th to get. Korpisalo probably gets like a 3rd so he'll be out of range probably. Maybe they do trade Kallgren + a pick for Korpisalo but doubt it. Definitely won't be Robertson as a sweetener and if it's Woll it would be in a larger trade perhaps.
Leafs will need Robertson's ELC along with Knies' next year. Perhaps Robertson gets dealt next year for something if he doesn't become a permanent fixture.
Maybe if the Leafs wants both Gavrikov+Korpisalo they pay a 2024 1st + Robertson + Woll</div></div>
Not 100% against this but would be nice to preserve the 1st if at all possible and if the above trade suggestion of Jensen for Sandin straight up happened then Gavrikov wouldnt be necessary.
Anyway, think we can all agree a nice top4 D, a back-up goalie and potentially another gritty forward would be ideal for the leafs before the trade deadline.

At this point I feel he's more likely to not succeed than succeed (hope I'm wrong), therefore in this scenario we get something we need for him and can focus on developing Knies in the slot he would have taken for the future. Sure we might regret this trade but got to look at the here and now.

Straight up I would probably do that so that would work. Then can maybe go after Jeannot for a 3rd+ and Korpisalo for backup goalie.
But yeah Wilson woukd be amazing.

Signing Timmins was a W at 1.1M AAV, no risk.
I miss Bogosian. Even Lyubushkin. That type of a low cost bottom pair D men plus a gamechanging D for the 1st D-pair and as PP QB. Hard to get. Hard to fit in. But Rielly is far away from an Atlantic Division rival Hedman, Lindholm caliber.
Will Muzzin retire in your proposal?</div></div>
Yeah muzzin to retire was the thinking and agree with all, unfortunately I think it'll be hard to sign a top 4 dman under 5mil unless we just stick with a young gun in Sandin.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchJr</b></div><div>This guy is just a troll that loves piling on the Leafs; often from left field so he must monitor every Leaf post waiting to drop his ‘how to win’ wisdom - really weird. Having just watched 2 back to back games, Gavrikov is over rated - definitely not worth a 1st + imo.</div></div>
Agree i wouldnt want to give up the first but think a 2nd + Sandin coming in with a reasonable extension could be worth it.

Why are they even in that deal? Its ridiculous. SDA/Simmonds/Engvall have ZERO value to Philly. Robertson;s value is at an all time low. Take out the ridiculous stuff and Hirvonen, a 1st, 2 3rds and a 4th isn;t a bad offer for Koneckny, but why would they throw in the other pieces or want the toronto junk
You posted a team yesterday with an equally ridiculous Koneckny offer that I dismantled, this deal is even worse.
Your leaf crap is still crap</div></div>
Thinking was:
1st, 3rd, Hirvonen > Konecky
SDA, Robertson, 3rd > Frost
4th, Simmonds (as a stop gap) > MacEwen
Engvall > cap room/can fill Frost's slot for Philly until year end.

Yeah fair enough. Its about a $2.5m cap saving and a year more term on Konecny so thats worth something but maybe they can throw in a pick or another piece worth less than $2.5m to keep it affordable.

Have seen Girard touted for less on loads of Avs ACGMs. Thinking was a 1st, good prospect and Muzzin (slight retained) as a cheaper stand-in replacement. Short term less cap for the Avs and as soon as Muzzin is off the books frees up cap for Byram etc and your top 4 D look quite set anyway.
For leafs the aim was finding a good LD that has some term to give us some cap certainty (also bearing in mind I traded Sandin). Also, Muzzin might actually accept going to COL.

Yeah I agree, but unfortunately he's going to be hard to move. Engvall will allow us to carry 21 with Lilly and then can call up Robertson and move Holl or Muzzin to 7D. By only moving Holl there won't be enough room for a scratch I believe.

On the Toronto side, though, I have to wonder if Hague is going to sign for $1.2M. Vegas has had that ~$2.5Mish to play with all summer and Hague still isn't signed. Don't think he's trying to get *that* much but it feels like if he was gonna take $1.2M, he would've been in camp already.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>I think Vegas declines this, the cap just doesn't work on their end.
Kerfoot = $3.5M
Carrier = $1.4M
Vegas is $10.2M over the cap right now; this deal would put them $12.3M over.
They've got Shea Weber ($7.857M) and Robin Lehner ($5M) as LTIR contracts for this year, so that gives them $12.857M in cap relief. Meaning they have about $557K in cap space, and they haven't signed the RFA they got in this trade. It just changes the name of their headache from Nic Hague to Rasmus Sandin.</div></div>
Could perhaps retain $400-500k on Kerfoot giving them ~1m cap space to sign Sandin to a 1x1.
Then leafs could give Hague the same 1x1 and sign ZAR for 800-850 to meet the cap. Next year the situation would get resolved by using the Holl money to sign Hague to a proper bridge.
