i love how both leafs and devils fans are saying no chance their team does it. So, i would say well done. I think that it is pretty fair value lol. I am a big Mercer fan tho

No way Devils do that trade. This year it's a two for one trade......Willy for Severson and Mercer. Devils would prefer to have years of control of Mercer and the cap next season than one year of Nylander.

Leafs love the trade.....Getting two NHLers at cheaper cap than Nylander alone. And next year have Mercer and 6m in cap.

I have no dog in this fight, so I'm here with popcorn. But if you want my two cents, I think Mercer straight-up will be better than Nylander and wouldn't go near this with a 10-foot pole if I was Tom Fitzgerald.

There never seems to be thought put into this same trade I've seen for ages. The Devils are trading Mercer for two years of Nylander and then he's a UFA? Those same people just say "WeLl JuSt Re-SiGn HiM"....when the Devils would also have to be pot committed and Nylander's agent would hold them hostage on an extension. This makes ZERO sense to NJ for that very reason.
