If Mikheyev signs for closer to what you are thinking he will then the Leafs could bring in a better option. I agree that he is not ideal on the 3rd line, but someone like him may have to be..

I think that Mikheyev will have a decent arbitration case that could push him close to 2 million, so I'm just being cautious with his contract. Good PPG and possession numbers, however he only played part of his first full season in the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>IMO. Leafs can't be trading any Dman since they don't have the NHL depth. Reilly, Muzzin, Dermot, Lehtonen , Holl are Leafs this season. Hoping for a a veteran Dman to make six. That leaves Sandin, Liljegren, Marincin for the another spot. With injuries all nine I have mentioned probably see NHL time.</div></div>
Would a guy like Shattenkirk be a better and potentially cheaper veteran signing than DeMelo then? Also, are you expecting that one of the defensemen that you have listed will play their off side then?

Does that mean either Dermott gets traded, or Sandin ends up in the minors for another year?

How much more do you think DeMelo is worth? The guy is good defensively but has only put up mediocre point totals and has middling possession numbers. I'm not really sure what I'd pay him, but anything more than 2.5AAV seems like a bit much right?

Konecny for Boeser seems like a trade that would occur if the two players were struggling- but they are not. The defensemen swap seems irrelevant.

Minnesota Wild trade Matt Dumba to Vancouver Canucks for Brock Boeser
I think there is a bigger ask from VAN. I really like Matt Dumba but this would deteriorate the Canucks top-six, especially if they don't re-sign Toffoli.

Salary Cap Compliant V3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Why would we be interested in Stetcher as a stop gap for the next 3 years? We're pretty much set with Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom on the right side. Seider is easily NHL ready now he'll be on the team from the sound of things that Yzerman said we need a few cheap ELCs on the team with the flat cap and all. We need more LD help then RD help.</div></div>
What happens if any of those 3 struggle (Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom) during the season and need more time in the minors? Stetcher is a player that you know can play in the NHL and is solid defensively. You don't want to shoot a prospect's confidence in the foot if they aren't ready, especially if the Wings have another poor season. I don't think that Madison Bowey and Alex Biega can carry the defensive load on the right side. I understand that the prospects are great- and they are. But, no NHL coaching staff is going to want to run a defense core that young immediately.

I was looking at Stetcher as a stop gap for the next 3 seasons or so.. Wings will need some defensemen who can play hard minutes (PK, D-Zone starts, and matchups) while their prospects develop. Stecher can be a serviceable top-4 guy and plays hard. Would be a good player to have alongside prospects. However, I definitely undervalued how many RD prospects the Wings have. How soon do you think some of them will be in the league?

Yea, if Ferland does not go on LTIR the Canucks are pretty ****ed. I think that would be the writing on the wall for Toffoli or Tanev

That only works on players who signed their contract after they had turned age 35. Loui does not qualify.

I didn't consider how many great RD prospects that the wings have! Stechter may not be a good fit then. How many of those guys do you think are going to be NHL ready in the next couple years?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joshhaggstrom</b></div><div>No way this happens it’s a mid range salary dump for high salary dump plus a pick and elite level prospect</div></div>
I'm not sure how you can consider it a mid-range salary dump when there are 2 years left on Eriksson's contract and only 1 year left on Anisimov's. The additional year of salary shed will allow the Canucks to easily sign Hughes and Pettersson. Also, they need to decide which goaltender that they want to go with before the expansion draft.

I think that the VAN trade is pretty fair. Although, 2 years of Loui Eriksson at 6 Million may require more from the Canucks. Stetcher is going to be a slightly overpaid #4-5 defensemen, as he requires a minimum qualifying offer of 2.325 Million.
