Pretty solid lineup.👍 That D core is gonna be scary in a couple years. Haven’t seen Greenway in a while, has he projected to #2 W?

You may be right. Might have to add a high end prospect or draft pick to even it out a bit on 2nd look. Thanks!!

Nylander sign and trade 925AAV for 4 years
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Anus_McLeod</b></div><div>Valuing players on a forward looking basis is not a tough concept, but it's leads to a lot of familiarity bias. Bet the OP would change their tune if there was a Knies, Liljegren, and a first for Toews or something like that. But also it's not understanding the roster/cap outlook of the trade partner (Avs in this case). Certainly that's not easy to do for every team. Some fans are homers, but many also know their team's situation pretty good. Gotta distinguish and then listen to the latter if you want to get anything from these boards imo.</div></div>
Knies, Lily and a 1st for Toews wouldn’t make much sense for the Leafs cap. At least my numbers added up for both teams.
I get it, Nylander isn’t right for the Avs. All I’m saying is if Byram and Lehkonen are on Columbus who needs offence, this trade isn’t unreasonable with Lily included.

Avs fans are funny. I thought my Leaf fans over valued their players. If you don’t like Willy and his cap, I get it but saying he isn’t worth a Byram is a bit much. Once Nichuskin gets hurt again, it won’t sound so bad.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Definitely not making a statement about the trade, just my POV as an Anaheim fan, I'm excited to see what he does this season. I know Robortson is Uber skilled, but the poor kids been under the knife a lot for someone his age and already has a history of concussion issues, I question if he ever truly sticks around the show. As to the other prospect, that doesn't really do anything for the Ducks, we have a lot of those already in the system.
I really don't get where a lot of fans think he's suddenly worth a high mid round pick. He was picked up 25 games ago for a 4th line forward, in the AHL, who was signed for free. 25 games of incredibly sheltered minutes hasn't suddenly restored his value to that of a 3rd. Whole reason he got 1.1 was to allow him to be sent down without another team trying to claim him.</div></div>
6th round is high to mid?

If the AVS could manage it, their top 6 would be lights out. What a PP too.

We are offering the same with “potential “. Hoping Robertson stays healthy and Minten hopefully becomes an NHL top 9 forward.

I suppose these other moves are just alternatives to attempting to pass through waivers... ?</div></div>
I think he will have very high potential as a power forward if he stays healthy. That is the reason I offered some of the Leafs top prospects in return plus if Robertson stays healthy, he might win you the trade himself. IMO

I would assume it would be a sign and trade. Wouldn’t expect those assets for a one year player. Maybe too many assets for CLB to give up but I imagine either Jiricek or Marchenko would be part of the deal if Willy agreed on an extension.

I think it looks like a pretty fair deal if Philly starts the rebuild but I also think the Leafs would have to trade Willy for a D to make this happen. IMO Knies needs to be on the top two lines with what he can bring to the table. I like the Seeler addition as well!

You saying no one is going to pay him more than 1M is an opinion! Not saying you’re wrong but it’s an opinion. We will have to see at TDL what he is gonna get if he can make it back.

I agree! And at TDL the Jets should know whether or not they are going to start a rebuild or make another run for it next year. That should determine the assets you get back for Dillon.

A bit much for fantasy trade talk there Jared. You are arguing opinions. If Kane is good to go halfway through, I can see a team offering 3M around TDL from players going on LTIR.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>masterjuddi</b></div><div>evidence? what is this peoples court? but i guess recent play and durability makes him better. 23 points compared to 14 and 82 games to 58. It's an eye test thing and if Brodie was so good why you trading him? It's terrible asset management as the trade doesn't move the needle for either team and you have the jets giving up a second rounder as well with both being pending UFA's</div></div>
I think it’s a matter of what each team needs. I know TML would like a natural RD not someone playing on their off side and the Leafs need bigger stronger D for battles in the crease and corners. Every teams need is different. I think Brodie and Dillon have similar values at their ages but bring different elements to their game. Even though Dillon is on the decline, I am still a big fan of what he brings to the table.

I think it’s pretty fair from the Leafs side but Hanifin would have to sign an extension. Which he doesn’t want to come to Canada anyway.
Minten is good but I feel he is our 3rd ranked prospect C behind Holmberg and Cowan. I like Steeves too but we do have many prospect wingers plus an aging Brodie and 1st for Hanifin with 50% retention for his final year.

I don’t see why you would trade Robertson right now with little value. He could end up being worth much more. I feel we hang onto him this year to see how it pans out unless he is needed in a bigger trade with Brodie or Nylander.
