It Looks Like Bean Is Going to Be Protected from Seattle
SEA isn’t wasting their pick on a UFA. They’ll take one of the unprotected D. Probly Fleury. And if they want Hamilton they’ll just offer him a contract. You’re over thinking this from SEA’s POV.

But they wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) be taking his UFA rights. They have the opportunity to sign him prior to the expansion draft. If they can't negotiate a deal before any other suitors are allowed to talk to him, why would they waste their pick on a guy they pretty much know won't be signing with them? If they take Hamilton, he'll be under contract, imo.

Who else would be exposed in this scenario? Just curious because if Seattle takes Hamilton, it will be because he signed with them already in the negotiation window. If they can't work out a deal, it's very likely they take somebody else.

D fix without trading big 4
I feel Edmonton would want a pick, but at least the d would be solid and you’d have Sandin and Liljigren (no clue how to spell his name) to call up.

Doubt there will be Buff
Why does everyone think risto would be a good fit here. The guys pretty much more of a defensive liability than Laine. I don’t see the jets winning a risto trade. I’d rather WPG go after a guy like honka. Getting risto creates a log jam when all of our d prospects are ready next year. Could get honka signed for cheap and he could be the guy who anchors our bottom pair next year.

Seems like a bit of an exaggeration. It could just be that his agent is terrible

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>LMAO what? Weber is what now 34? and locked in a 7.5M contract until hes 40? Jones is already better than Weber, I wouldn't even consider that 1 for 1 if I was Columbus. In 2 years time Jones will be arguably the best defensman in the entire league. Not to mention you want Dubois as well, a 21 year old who just came off a 61 point season. Literally only 1 person on Montreal had over 60 points last year. Like Columbus fans won't even do Marner 1 for 1 for Seth Jones and I don't blame them. This might set a new record for worse proposal on this site.</div></div>

WPG VAN MIN
That trade makes absolutely zero sense for WPG.
Like puljujarvi is nice, but not at the expense of roslovic who will become the much needed 2c sooner rather than later. Russel just adds to the jets’ cap problems that are worse than yours. The jets are already deep in LD prospects so lagasson doesn’t make sense either. And the 4th is honestly rather insignificant
Van one doesn’t make much sense for them either. The only reason they are trading him is to get cap room so retention is out of the question. It’s also an overpayment for a d man who is injured half of the season
The Wild one doesn’t make sense either honestly. Brodziak is a waiver pickup at most. No one will pay for him
Finally brassard reportedly wants 4M which is probably why he hasn’t been signed but in all honesty I think that signing is fair but unlikely if he wants that much

2 year bridge to uber-rich-mega-bucks next deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Millar</b></div><div>Actually a 4 year deal is worst case scenario. Walks him right to UFA. Will be 2-3 bridge or 6-8 if they can get him long term</div></div>
This is why I chose 3 years. I'm still a firm believer that Marner has no intention of leaving Toronto. He just wants to ride out the next couple of years until the cap gets to a point where he can make what he thinks he is worth. If I'm Dubas, I try and sign him to a 3 year deal that is signing bonus driven, gauge his camps interest in signing an extension in summer of year 2 and make your decision of whether to resign or move on based on Marner's ask. If he tears it up for the next couple of years, pay the man and move another piece to make room. To me that is how Dubas can make this a win-win.

That isnt lowballing him. Worst case would be signing him to four years. Do you know anything about about the difference between a ufa and an rfa?

My attempt
Not bad man, would like more of Laine's ufa years if he's getting that kind of aav but I'm pretty sure that's what he's gonna want.
Can't believe Connor is gonna get that kind of money but he likely will, really not sure if he's worth that especially considering the amount of time he spends with Scheiffele and Wheeler.
Wouldn't be giving Pionk that much yet and Tanev can just go away, he's terrible!
