<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FarhanLuigi</b></div><div>Hockey culture says differently. BUT again, no one knows. Anyone saying that the mix is fine in CBJ is delusional.
Ottawa/Buffalo/CBJ need major overhauls. And, this is what this site is supposed to do. Brainstorm ideas. If you are triggered by this as a CBJ, looks inwards and deal with it!
Losing culture/mentality is a thing in the ultimate team sport. There is no 'core' when you cant actually put a few good games in a row together and continually disappoint. The definition of insanity is repeating the same steps and expecting different results.</div></div>
You're right, Columbus does need to make changes. Those changes dont begin with trading away young players that have barely begun to show their potential though. Players like Jenner, Elvis, Provorov, Kuraly, and other vets that are getting the biggest share of icetime are the ones whose futures should be in doubt. Wilfully ignoring how the roster has been deployed makes your opinion on who should be traded completely irrelevant.

The self awareness of this one is zero. You're literally culprit #1.
If you're actually interested in having a discussion (doubtful): this isn't "making necessary changes", this is terrible asset management. Rebuilding teams don't trade likely 2 top-5 picks (KJ and the 2025 1st) for a 3rd liner with one good year and a second $5M+ goalie with term, that's straight-up moronic.
I'd entertain moving every single one of those pieces (but not until KJ is healthy post-surgery recovery) for upgrades, but saying KJ definitively wants out, having Columbus trade for Markstrom given Elvis is still here, and then gaslighting fans that tell you that doesn't make sense is some brainworm s***.

Kings fans would probably do it but I dont think it needs to be complicated with Jarry retention, draft picks, and Kaliyev.
PLD straight up for Jarry and Smith or Graves.

Waste of a 1st. Just buy him out.
$1.1M in 2031 will essentially be an ELC.

Kinda funny that a Calgary fan would call Columbus "toxic". The upcoming UFAs on the Flames except for Backlund all wanted. Hanifan, Zaradov, Lindholm, Toffelli.
Now maybe Columbus is toxic....probably just incompetent.

If his lesser known cousin but up and coming RHD Righty McRightHook was included to shore up the top 4 defense, then I'd be sold on it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Yeah, they both are. Granlund was brought in as a cap dump. A fluke year doesn't change what he is. Why did you think no one was interested at the tdl?
Benning is paid too much for a 6/7D.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Winnipeg doesn't need more forwards. They have enough as it is. Pionk isn't a cap dump. He was outmatched against Colorado but he's still an effective second pairing defenseman. This trade doesn't make sense for Winnipeg.
I would be surprised if Fabbri cost that much to dump. Could probably retain and get positive value for him.</div></div>
The fluke year for granny was in Pittsburgh. There was plenty of reported interest but the sharks chose to take the hertl contract off their books with their last retention slot. Figuring out 1.5 years with third party retention is tricky at the deadline. I would imagine he gets moved this year unless he displays real leadership for the kids and we keep him around. Idk if fabbri is the type of player the sharks want i just see the trade a lot on here.
Lance thank you for filling me in. I spaced on the Monahan deal so if youre set for forwards then for sure this doesnt make sense.

As a habs fan watching mony the last 2 seasons i believe he might be better at the c on the pp as he wins draws and is great infront.
Also do you think he might test fa and sign back in mtl or somewhere else?
Chatfield getting 5x5 is crazy maybe 3x3
Also walkers stock went up hes getting north of 4.25 easily

CHI declines. If CHI is going to spend like that, it will be for a player who is at least 2 years younger. Chances are, by the time CHI is truly ready to contend, Ehlers will be a shell of his current self. I like Ehlers a lot, but this just isn't a move a rebuilding team makes.

I get what you would like to see, trade your stars to rebuilding teams so you're guaranteed high picks, it just doesn't happen though. Teams that want players like Connor, Helly, Ehlers and Marky will be contenders or wanna be contenders. Getting returns like this is just video game strategies

Zero chance Winnipeg does that. If the Jets move Perfetti it would need to be for a similarly aged and talented player in a position of need.

You'll be lucky to get a 5th round pick for Kupari (what Anaheim paid for Ben Meyers). Odds are pretty good that if you put him on waivers next season he'll go unclaimed.

Probably people overreacting because he didn't play much at the end of regular season and haven't played in playoffs. But yeah most likely it would be Farabee or TK going the other way.

I posted exactly that here, both their agents sniffed around and found out no one was willing to pay top dollar and/or term for 55 and 37 and the realization was the only team that would was the team they were already on so they signed those brutal extensions, **** is Chipman a moron.. 🙄
Conner Hellebuyck could literally **** out a Vezina Trophy but until he steals some playoff games who ****ing cares how many awards he has, well I guess his ego cares.. lol
This lineup needs a major overhaul.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Its crazy how ****ing bad the Jets PK is, get that its the Avs but holy expletive is it useless.
The Jets forwards who kill penalties don't really know how to block shots, they don't keep their feet moving and just stand their flat footed while pucks get fired past them, just infuriating to watch.
They definitely should've tried the speedy Axel on the PK over slow ass Iafallo.</div></div>
Food for thought, would the jets be better off losing scheifele and helly for nothing and selling Connor/ehlers/morrissey and anybody else, and use the helly/scheifele cap room to maximize the returns, in an attempt to replicate the coyotes for a few years til they flip the switch again.

**** does this team need a massive overhaul.</div></div>
Yea I think letting some of the young guys play leaves next year open to shipping out the expiring contracts like Pionk and Ehlers at the deadline if the Jets stink
I'm not sure there would be a big market for goalies with a 8.5 mil cap hit, outside New Jersey I don't know if they'd get any offers worth going out and resigning brossoit and trying to find a 1A/1B situation
