Bye bye Swiss cheese georgiev
I don't see how you're going to land Koochie, or for that matter any goalie for as cheap as Georgie that can actually hold up to the workload you guys put him through this season, guy looks absolutely cooked out there.
The guys who might be available include Markstrom (wouldn't probably want Georgie the other way) Gibson (would take Georgie the other way), maybe Ullmark but you'd need pay a ton. I don't see Seattle letting Daccord go, they want back into the post season. I don't see Saros moving with Nashville in the playoffs. Mrazek and Blackwood both have significant injury histories, when they get hurt they tend to play musical chairs with IR. You could gamble on a Merzlikens or a Vejmelka.
Maybe WSH would be willing to send you back Kuemper. Maybe SEA would be willing to send you Grubauer back, SEA might be willing to eat some of the contract, he clearly isn't working there.

Yeah, Lucius is a better RW prospect than anyone the Islanders have in the pipeline despite his injury history, but the rest of that package is spare parts. That's nowhere near enough to get Ryan Pulock and his team-friendly (both in money and term) contract out of Long Island.
In general, you don't get a first-pair RhD without giving up a first-round draft pick (plus quite a bit more) and No, Chaz Lucius isn't the equivalent of a first-round draft pick.

Stamkos almost came to Buffalo the last time he hit FA, and Buffalo has a much better overall team this time around.

That leafs trade is awful for the Flames even if Coronato never develops into anything why would we take the full caphit and handcuff ourselves even more.

Tavares doesn’t waive, and either way I don’t know why Calgary would wanna make that trade for 1 year of $11 million, 33 year old Tavares who’s been on the decline. Just makes no sense for Calgary at all

Agreed. I guess Parker Ford is just flying standby in case something happens between the morning skate and the game, that is, guaranteeing a regular a night off instead of coming in at the last minute if someone on the roster gets sick.

Can’t give that much term and money to monahan, slippery slope, stastny similarity. Hopefully not out termed, but hopefully not too much term, I actually wouldn’t mind a little raise and term on Stanley, lambert isn’t ready for 2c, but possibly a perfetti type audition to the nhl. Probably a few more suitors for montour, so may take bigger number and more term. Interesting build, could be blockbuster season yet of a hockey trade and possibly get back a 1 for ehlers/iafallo/random prospect.

Like the name of the team. I had suggested "Sister Wives". I wonder if Keller's request for a trade (if true) isn't so much the move to Utah but it's still the it's still the Coyotes management under any other name.

Dude that package consists of a top centre prospect, a former 1st round d-prospect ready to make the NHL jump, a top 15 pick and a pretty early 2nd rounder. That's more than enough for a guy like Keller, there's only like 8-10 players in the league that are worth more than that package. If Utah wants a different package instead that's fair but the value is very much there</div></div>
That's a a top 10 pick from 2 years ago, coming off a junior season where he was over 2 points per game, a first this year that is currently pick 11, plus johnson and the second. Nobody is beating that.

It's hard bc we're already super young, feels like it makes sense to move one of the higher end prospects for a good established player

Marner to SEA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_92</b></div><div>lol. That’s not how they go…
The team usually approaches the player and says something similar to “hey look, we’re looking at moving you and think it’s best for both sides for a different look. Think about it and give us a list of teams you’d waive for” & generally players concede to that. Players don’t wanna play for a team that doesn’t want them. & Seattle isn’t a bad fit for Marner - it’s an up and coming team that needs a go to offensive catalyst and it’s a tax free state. Both could be intriguing to Marner.
But this idea on this site of players with NMC never waiving is just ridiculous. Players don’t get NMC to never be traded - they get it so that they control where and when they are dealt. If you think that just because Marner grew up a Leafs fan that he’s never waive then you’d be wrong. It’s a business first, game second.</div></div>
There are a lot more John Tavares,Steven Stamkos, players who get it for that exact reason compared to Phil the hot dog man who waives. We just never here about them refusing or rarely do anyway because teams don't want that getting out. Neither really does the player. He's not getting anymore money leaving and he has to acrue the moving costs and uprooting his wife if he's married yada yada .
The original NMC was Vinny LeCavelier after TBs previous ownership screwed Dan Boyle over he gave a hometown discount then they told him either accept the trade to SJ or we'll waive you and you got no say where you're going. So, yes they often have that purpose in mind.

I wouldn't exchange #3C Isac Lundestrom and his under-$2.5 million-anticipated cap hit for #3C Jesperi Kotkaniemi and his $4.82 million cap hit.
I wouldn't acquire one season of Robby Fabbri and a guy who wouldn't even make the roster and whose $3.4 million cap hit would have to be buried in San Diego just to move from pick #35 to pick #15 - 17.
And I certainly wouldn't use the Edmonton first to acquire one season of Neal Pionk. We're not making the playoffs next season.</div></div>
From an Anaheim standpoint I’d probably do it because I think they could get a low pick out of Fabbri at half retention and just buy Holl out.
Not bad to move up to the mid 1st. I can see an argument against, but in my mind, the only reason you don’t do that is if your ownership isn’t willing to spend the raw dollars.

Even tho MM has 50 points, he would play in the Bottom 6 next year with Robertson Pavelski Johnston Duchene Benn Stankoven Bourque Seguin all there. And at 4.5M for a 3rd-4th liner it becomes expensive.
Can we talk about the team Jim Nill made? Everyone is sleeping on him. And they still have crazy good prospects with crazy good young stars and top6 players. And the Goaltending is one of the best. Defense is also solid with Miro Harley Tanev Lindell and Etc. And Bischel has yet to come

Rob Blake isn't ABOUT to trade Phillip Danault. His acquisition is what Blake points to every time someone mentions Pierre-Luc DuBois. And Trevor Moore -- Danault -- Viktor Arvidsson/Kevin Fiala has been our most productive and consistent forward line since January 1, 2023 -- that's right, 2023, not 2024. That's over a season and a half of excellence.

Hawks decline both of those deals. Bryson isn't a guy the Hawks would take for free. He literally fills no need the Hawks have on their blue line. I'd imagine he doesn't get a qualifying offer so he'll be a UFA July 1st. No need for any team to waste a pick on him. Skinner likely isn't waiving for Chicago. But even if he did, the 3rd year on Skinner's contract is probably a deal breaker in a trade to the Hawks. And he's not a $9m player anyway, so a pick swap isn't enough to move him.
