Canes Shock Some By Keeping Pesce and Turbo Instead of Guentzel

I can't think of other contenders using cap space in such a manner unless the Utah ownership becomes the new Manchester City and just starts buying players to become a contender.</div></div>
Man City comparison makes no sense. Not sure you know anything about the EPL but there is no salary cap; completely different animal. All teams in the nhl can spend to the same amount as Utah and lots of teams will have lots of cap space

Predicting Future RFA and Reserve Contracts
Excellent work. Feel like both Robertson & Liligren are too high; $1.5M & $2.4M respectively (if Tre doesn’t move them)

Marner doesn’t waive.
If he somehow miraculously did, why would he extend and not test FA?
Leafs don’t need LHD, so no interest in Pelech. Not enough for Marner anyway.
Very unlikely

Let’s leave aside the ridiculous idea that Leafs would do this (or that Marner would waive), how do you figure Kings make this work, cap wise🤦🏻. Just embarrassing

Marner doesn’t waive, but if he did (miracle) - then Wilson and mid 1st next year is nowhere near enough. Marner is a pending UFA but Wilson is on a massive ticket. He’s overpaid now, what value will he bring in 3, 6 , 8 years 🤯😬. No thx

Come on man; even you must realize how ridiculous the statement you wrote is “Marner may not but if leaf’s force his hand we’ll see.”
Breathtakingly preposterous.

Ridiculous trade for Leafs; Cowan is untouchable at this point. Markstrom is not worth that from Leaf’s perspective

Marner doesn’t waive for Minnesota, don’t think they have the cap anyway. Stream of preposterous Marner trades continues 💪

Gudbranson is a bad dman on a bad team; retention helps but easy to find better dmen via FA. I can’t see why the Leafs would give up on Robertson now - he’s coming off an impressive season

Truly awful trade for the leafs; but I know you know this. What else do SENs have to do at this time of year but work on your mock drafts & troll leaf fans 🤡

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Matt1567</b></div><div>yeah, I highly doubt he waives for anyone, but thought it'd be a fit for the ducks on the chance he would waive for them</div></div>
I don’t see how you think the timelines align. Ducks are ~ 3 years from realistically competing & Marner is in his prime now. I think the Ducks would be better to sign short term vet FAs, take their lumps and let promising young core develop. Maybe a few years from now - make a big trade but seems too early to me

Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Matt1567</b></div><div>Anaheim are reportedly looking for a top 6 RW, and while they're bad now if all Marner cares about is getting paid Anaheim is the place for him (idk if he does but it's possible), while the Ducks can't possibly get any worse and have a very promising future with the abundance of prospects they've drafted/acquired. They move on from Vatrano and Gibson who are both unlikely to be around when the team is at its best, a young depth forward whose had injury problems but has been solid when healthy, a defensive prospect whose not necessarily got a spot going forward, and some picks that likely aren't good enough to make them regret getting Marner and Liljegren.
As for the leafs, they get a goalie on a reasonable deal assuming he can bounce back, which I think he can given how bad the team infront of him has been, a hyman-esque winger in Vatrano whose cheap, and 2 young players that could develop into full-time NHLers if they're not there already, plus some picks to restock the prospect cupboards or acquire other pieces, while clearing up cap space to add in free agency / trades</div></div>
Nothing you wrote passes smell test, sorry. Literally NO chance Marner or either team entertain this

Why would the Leafs do this? Other than to change things up? Marner is younger & better than Seguin and has one year left vs three. Ridiculous

I mean - no law against posting trades but 🤦🏻. Why would either team do this? Why would Marner waive to join a rebuilding team (in a contract year)? Why would Marner agree to waive and then extend in Anaheim? Why would a rebuilding team move assets for a player like Marner when they are far from competitive window? I could keep going but… you get the message

Truly astounding that you think both:
1/ Marner would waive for San Jose; nice city but they’re in a serious rebuild and it’s a contract year for him
2/ leafs would accept that return - a 4th liner + mid picks
🤦🏻
