dmen on a discount
So Dallas 2 options:
Option 1 - They keep their franchise-caliber defenseman for nearly $4M per year less than what you have Marner making here
Option 2 - They trade their franchise-caliber defenseman for Marner, who is already overpaid, and then give him EVEN MORE money, absolutely killing their cap and leaving their already shorthanded blue line even more crippled
Why on earth would Dallas choose Option 2?

Marner is little interest to Philly. Rebuild is still happening. Flyers want picks and prospects, they arent 1 superstar away from being a contender.

If Flyers trade Farabee it will be as a part of a bigger trade. They won't be trading him for lesser assets

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>listen to you.
A team should risk 7 million to find a back up goalie...... The F kind of piss poor management is that?
That's how a GM gets fired. stupid decisions like that.
It be one thing if you were over here talking about, yeah we risked 3.5x2 for a guy who might be a 40 goal scorer or something.
But you over here going on about backup goalie.</div></div>
Do you think the Flyers have a legit starter right now? Ersson has been pretty good given the circumstances but do you think the Flyers would be smart to just lean on him for the future? Or would it be smart to try to find another goalie from somewhere? You might think he deserves less but this is evidently the money he wanted to come over to NA. 3.25 isn’t really that much and it’s basically nothing considering we now have less that 5 million for our goalies for the next 2 years. Thinking Briere could lose his job over this is a quite laughable.

Let them vote no without understanding the situation. It was the only way to get him over here and in case people forgot, we were left in a pretty precarious situation at goaltender because of another guy that shall not be named.
Also not about to stat bomb his 3 "games" in the NHL. One of the weirder situations for any player to go through let alone a goalie. And to just be thrown into the NHL for a team trying to get into the playoffs that was a tremendous amount of pressure, couldn't have felt too comfortable.

It’s also technically a 1st and two 2nds and I don’t think the front office would be crazy about giving that up.</div></div>
I feel like a Chychrun trade would be similar in a way to the Provorov trade.
Slightly overpaid depth player that is still useful and a late 1st

Yes I think that's right, but I also think it was more the cap hit was seen as an issue. He was viewed as a 3rd line winger vs. a top 9 play driving winger.

Friedman mentioned at the time, That Krug would only waive to go home to Detroit. And reports out of Detroit was that Yzerman said no. Blues either buy him out or are stuck with him. Because I doubt he waives.

Fan Opinions on Possible Players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Moss_Bucket</b></div><div>You have a point, but given how those draft picks could surprise people and end up being better players just makes me personally want to build from the draft. If Danny were to spend some assets on one RFA I wouldn't be annoyed, as long as the price isn't too high. Most of these guys are likely staying with their teams though.</div></div>
Agreed I just feel like our drafting is so unpredictable (Michkov, Cutter, Patrick, etc) that I wouldn’t mind someone like Lundell who is only 22 and already proven to be a solid player.

Would have to imagine if the Blues were to line up another trade for Krug that made sense there would be a conversation of if you don't take this we're going to send you to Springfield. I guess I get it trying to be respectful to the player the first go around. But regardless, if Army wouldn't exercise the option to waive the player to strongarm a trade, there's virtually 0 reason for him to be so strongly against NMCs and still hand out NTCs. There's alot of dialogue that that's the main reason Petro left.

Would these work as a basis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Moss_Bucket</b></div><div>Well if that's the case we can both agree Anaheim isn't moving him. Quite frankly I don't know where the rumors of Zegras being moved came from, but I don't see it happening either. Personally I'm tired of the Zegras to Philly mutterings, because trading futures for potential star power is not going to fix the mess that is Philly.
I still don't think Anaheim would get those big offers though given the missed season, it really does effect trade value, even if just temporary.</div></div>
Frank Seravalli, who's track record on Anaheims going ons is horrible. Then a bunch of local columnists picked it up and ran with it.
I don't see him moving either, he's one of, if not outright, our best offensive weapon. For a team wanting to turn the corner next season, moving him makes zero sense.
We're frankly tired of it too, but it pales in comparison to what Habs fans are doing.

Contenders
The worst thing Philly can do is trick themselves into thinking they have a cup contending team after this year. They have a team built for the future but this team isn't close to contending the next 2-4 years, they shouldn't sacrifice a strong future team just because they lucked into a WC2 spot in a weak conference.

OffseasonPractice
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Moss_Bucket</b></div><div>Has Boqvist played top pair lately? Don't really follow Blue Jackets but just know he's had a long list of injuries, over thirty updates from CapFriendly, which I know isn't 30 injuries but more or less around 15.
It does look like Johnson is going to be a middle sixer at low and maybe a top 6 or even elite winger at best though. I agree though, this move just wouldn't make sense for either team. Its not the value that's bad, its just the roles that each team need counter act it. Given that we have Drysdale now who is great when healthy but unfortunately injury prone, bringing in another guy like Boqvist who also has injury issues just seems like way too high a risk and losing two middle six guys for someone who may also be a middle six guy but might be more seems like too big of a gamble in my mind.</div></div>
When he's played in the past two months or so, he's most-commonly paired with Werenski on the top pair. He's been unlucky with injuries, one stretch this year he was out because a puck hit him in the face on the bench. and it's probably just listed as "upper-body". Not really his fault, or even being injury-prone (which, he is). Bringing him in with Drysdale almost only makes sense if you're assuming one or the other is injured at all times.
