I don’t think they need to make trades, not right now. Bear should be back around Christmas potentially making Myers a deadline trade option. Also I believe Vancouver should look at some of their prospects to see if they can fill a need. If Pearson and Poolman can come back perhaps they can look at a potential trade there. If the playoffs don’t become a reality they have more deadline options with Garland and Beauvillier.

The ducks cant score and needs players who can, Toronto needs someone who can stay healthy and stop a puck, I see a very good fit here.

I agree but he has been saying he wants to win and play for a team that is ready to win now, Toronto has potential for a fit but he will need to take a pay cut to make that happen. Look at the tams that are close, Tampa, Colorado, Edmonton, NYR. hes not getting 7mill from any of them.

Right, Arizona loves their IR guys, they make the cap floor and insurance pays the salary. win win.

Because they aren't getting anything done in the playoffs with the current roster and Gibson is still a top tier goalie,

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gordfish</b></div><div>I think everyone is really underestimating the numbers on Pettersson and Hughes, the latter especially. The Canucks might have a case in low balling Petey, given his GP's, but it will very likely cost them in term. I would imagine his play in the bubble will be what the agents hold under Jim's nose as the smell test. If you get him at 7.5, think two to three years.
Hughes, on the other hand, is entirely different. We're talking about about one of the league's leading scoring defensemen over the last two seasons, and he did that as a 20 and 21 year old. And one of his prime comparables, Cale Makar, is also RFA. That will muddy things, unless Makar's side get their business done early. IMO, I don't see Hughes coming in under 8 million per. He may have been exposed defensively last season, but he certainly wasn't alone on that team, on the bench AND behind it.
While I think bridge deals are what make the most sense for all parties, getting either of them at 6 to 6.5 million might be wishful thinking, especially given who their agents are. If either do come in that low, I'd be shocked if the term was longer than two seasons.</div></div>
I agree with you on all points, I think both deals will be a little low in dollars and term as well. Once there is a clearer picture cash flow wise we will see the larger dollar and term deals return.

How so? I think it does, the two a young top five draft pick with a lot of potential in need of a fresh start, and checking forward for a 3rd next year, not a bad trade IMHO.
