Don't see Sabres moving UPL in this deal. It would most likely be Comire.
Also based on how UPL and Anderson are playing for the Sabres a trade for Demko makes more since in the off-season

What is demko even worth is he a top 5 goalie
He's currently not a top 5 goalie. Doesn't make sense to trade Demko when hes at his lowest value, because Buffalo is not paying that for him. Especially when UPL and Anderson are in the top 20 for goals against expected and are cheap.

Sabres get a Goalie Canucks a Goalie of the Future and 2 Quality prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delete</b></div><div>i like krebs and lukkonen, but demko is one of the best young goalies in the game, not moving him and especially when hes been out,and value isnt at the highest.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>This isn't a terrible idea for BUF. Demko will bounce back next year, and I think UPL is still a year or two away (and they still ahve Levi). With the talent in the BUF system, trading away one of their minor league player to solidify an important position isn't a bad thing. And to me, Krebs is kinda expendable with the emergence of other youngsters.</div></div>
Trading for a 27 yr goalie who is on a down year and injured, with a long term contract is very risky. What if he is never the same player when he leaves Vancouver, what if he struggles in the Sabres system. I just don't see this team moving that much capital for a position that has not been a issue for 2 months now. Both their goalies are in the top 20 for goals saves above expected.

So Buffalo gives up the younger, cheaper goalie who's playing better plus Krebs and Kulich?

Meier
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>Simply sign him long term, that is allowed holy smokes people don’t get it</div></div>
Or he can decline a long deal and sign a 1 year deal through arbitration then be a UFA next year.
Any team trading for him would need a long term deal in place prior to the trade. Also looking at the Sabres roster with upcoming contracts it would be tricky to pay him what his asking will be

Too rich for buffalo. BUF is up and coming team, and I doubt they would move a potential core piece for a really good Dman they will only have for 2 more years.

Demko and Schenn to Buffalo
That's a no from buffalo. They currently have 3 goalies on the roster, and a high end prospect in Levi. UPL also appears to be a legit starter for Buff right now, and because of that I don't see them moving all that capital for a goalie.

Real money move but cap savings for Bs
More likely the trade would be for futures due to the real money involved. Only team that would probably touch that is the Coyotes. Buffalo has a recent history of declining trades for bad contracts with picks in return. Their ownership is trying to save real dollars for the teams long term contracts they will be offering to roster players this year and next.

Don't see Buff moving that much for a 26 year old winger. Meier is a really good player, but only 1 year left as a RFA. Sabres have Quinn under their control for several more years. Also Quinn was this current GMs first pick, I doubt they are ready to move on. Especially considering Quinn has shown glimpses of elite scoring abilities in the AHL and a few games in the NHL.
If Buff moves a young player and a pick it will most likely be for a young top 4 Dman

Buffalo isn't moving a cheap promising assest or a 26 yr old winger, even if he is willing to sign long term.

Buff has the Cap Space for JT Miller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>T_Hip</b></div><div>Okposo is a throw in to make the salaries work. Van would then flip him at the deadline or just let him walk at the end of the season. And Lyubushkin replaces Schenn for next year. The two draft picks are the "young players" they will get.
Buffalo has almost 32M in cap space for next year.</div></div>
They have to pay Dahlin, Power, Quinn, and Peterka in the coming season. That will take up a chunk of their cap flexibility. So adding another 8 mil hit for a soon to be 30 yr is bad management
