Buffalo has almost 32M in cap space for next year.

They have to pay Dahlin, Power, Quinn, and Peterka in the coming season. That will take up a chunk of their cap flexibility. So adding another 8 mil hit for a soon to be 30 yr is bad management

This doesn't happen because, as others have already said, taking on Miller would be disastrous down the road. Consider all of the raises they'll have to give to other players during those 8 years, while still needing flexibility to add for playoff runs. I say disastrous because, yes, he does seem to be getting a bit of a reputation, not sure what's going on for sure, but I wouldn't bring in that many years of that guy at that price.

The weird part for me is, I almost want to say no JUST because Miller would be making more per year than Tage Thompson, and that would be criminal. Skinner was grandfathered in of course .. and for real, Thompson's looks like the best contract in the league right now to me, he's bringing $10m value right now if not a little more.

Miller, because Vancouver has to "eat" Okposo's remaining deal, which is up at the end of next season, their captain, and the Sabres being able to afford him and his captain's efforts... that's worth a 1st and a 2nd... what have you been drinking?? For Buffalo to have to take 8 years of Miller at $8m when they should be spending their money elsewhere... and you want "multiple firsts" on top of that... I just can't.
