Yeah now that the hawks reached the cap floor they're not gonna give any discounts on cap dumps either

Pass on Vladar, rather sign a free agent in August that no other team wants. It's bound to happen.

Gus has never played any D in his life, he just puts up points and roves around his own zone listlessly until he is confused as to how that little black circular thing got into the netty thing.

Hawks are already loaded at D but I agree, he is the most NHL ready outside of the top 2.

I Like your comment about “trashcan” maatta ;)
Seriously though, from what I’ve read, it sounds like hawks are going Turcotte at #3. They’re both gonna be excellent players. Really no “bad” choice

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nick628</b></div><div>Yea life been busy. I would like to think we were both right/wrong. Fleury was impressive last year, and Andersen has been godly at times this year (had a good game one). Andersen could be on a mission and plays in front of a weak D. No more arguing, maybe some trolling, but I will not name call. Just enjoy some puck eh. Hope all is well buddy.</div></div>
Lmao fair enough. And man I couldn’t imagine going almost 2 years without this site. Good to see one of the OG members back. Congrats on #3rd overall

Reality...here's the lineup till season begins
Alex DeBrincat isn't going to be a healthy scratch he's gonna get a chance to play in the top 6 opening night. Every hawks prospect has gotten a shot on a top 6 line. Look at Saad, Teravainen, Motte, Schmaltz, Hayden. They all played at least a game in the top 6 in their rookie seasons. Q isn't going to bench a consistently 50+ goal scorer even if it was in junior.

Fleury
Nick: You know those are fighting words for some people. But if NMC Fleury limits his destination of choice to so few teams....a bag of pucks might be an overpayment. Might just be a puck. Again we're talking trading value not playing value.

No they actually don't. they need to get under the cap and get younger on defense. no other in their forward pool will net you a young top 4

Would Toronto do this?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phoenix159</b></div><div>Toronto would never make that trade this off-season. It makes their current roster worse and they're a playoff team, not just starting a rebuild. Pouliot may eventually turn into an NHL regular, but now he clearly belongs in the AHL. If Toronto regresses and is a seller at the '18 deadline, only then does this trade look reasonable. (Pens give up Haglelin to make salaries work).
NickC is likely underestimating Fleury's trade value during the off-season (which is totally different compared to the in-season deadline), but he's still probably only worth a 3rd or 4th rounder at best. But ignoring the price of acquiring Fleury... why would Vancouver even want him? Markstrom is fine and cheap. The slight upgrade they'd get in goal with Fleury isn't worth much to a team that still has a lot of other high priced talent on their roster and lots of RFA's to sign.</div></div>
I'm not underestimating at all. Nobody wants him before the expansion draft let alone knowing he will go through buy out waivers and get bought out by Pittsburgh. Why trade for him when you can probably sign him for 2 million after he gets bought out?

Ben Bishop, Scott Darling, Steve Mason. That's 3 free agents that won't require trading for.</div></div>
And fleury is much better then 2 /3 of those players</div></div>
Why is Pittsburgh going to buy him out in the offseason if they can't find a trade partner? Wouldn't you want to keep the goalie who is supposedly better than "2/3 of those players"? Why not make a deal with Vegas so they don't select him? Does Calgary even need a goalie? Elliott seems to have found his game anyway.

mhockey91: Sorry about the breakup. The good news is that it will be "free agency frenzy" soon, and you'll be snapped by another "team." Hope the cause of the breakup wasn't that you were spending too much on CapFriendly or a conflict about the value of MA Fleury.

Of all the Lw's to go after, why pick the one with one of the worst contracts. DeBrincat is having a hell of a year for Eerie but Ottawa isn't retaining salary and taking back Kruger.

Bickell Trade - Shaw Stays
Absolutely not.
Why would we move Forsling for V. Loov and cap freedom? Forsling is our #1 D prospect with 3 years on his ELC. Loov will be expansion eligible, which makes him useless to us.
