I think you misunderstood my post. You're saying that the comp to acquire Hanfin (a left-handed dmen) is the same as the cost to acquire Lindholm (a centerman). The reality is that centers go for a premium, especially 1st line centers. If CGY can get the same deal for Hanifin that they got for Lindholm then they 100% are taking someone to the cleaners.
As for the rest of your post. Lohrei was top 10 in NCAA scoring among d-men last season and played all-situations. He played between the AHL (nearly a PGP player) & NHL this season. He's a 6'4 smooth skating d-man that's a converted forward, but still decent defensively. Both guys are projected to be top 4 d-men if they hit their ceiling.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yoo</b></div><div>I mean he's a high-end 2nd line center on pace for 56 points this year and had 64 last year. He shouldn't be considered a pt per game 1st line center anymore, like he was 2 years ago with Gaudreau and Tkachuk</div></div>
Over the last 3 years Lindholm among center ranks....
Goals - 24th
Assist - 29th
Points - 28th
FO% - 24th
No one said anything about him being a P/GP center. His production the last 3 years is similar to Mark Scheifele. Scheifele just signed a 7yr/$8.5 million deal. Kadri is another guy who is numbers are similar to and Kadri last year signed a 7yr/$7 million deal. To say Lindholm is only worth $6.5 million on a 5yr deal with the cap increasing significantly next year is just odd.

What kind of blackmail does Sweeney have on Lindholm to get him to sign that deal?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MyTeamsSuck</b></div><div>Hanifin is worth more than that. Look at the Lindy trade and lower the price by a fourth round pick. Lohrei a first and another prospect would get it done. If Lohrei is too much, replace him with Beecher and a third.</div></div>
So the comp for trading Hanifin (LHD) is what Lindholm (Center) got?

I don't even think they really got "pushed around" last night. At least not due to grit. The boys simply were playing like it was a pre-season game and didn't put in much effort.

Boston has a better player that is a pending FA in his salary slot, so I don’t think they’d be the team to trade for him</div></div>
His production per game is also down about 10% from last year as well

His game is the same as it was when he was with Boston. He's a 13th forward type of player that can fill in for short periods of time if an injury occurs. He's not an NHL regular.

But Bob was a UFA signing and 2x Vezina winner at the time of his deal. Bob also signed that deal 5yrs ago and is now and is now 35yrs old, which is outside of his prime years. I see them taking a similar route to what they did with Rask.

DeBrusk walks at that offer and likely signs a 6-7yr/$6-$7 million deal with another team. Swayman at $8 million is an overpay (though I think $7 per isn't out of the realm of possibilities).

(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)
I'd say this deal is fair and similar to what Vancouver got for Horvat last year. The concerns I'd have if I were Calgary....
- Who is the real Kuzmenko? Last year he led the league in S% and nearly netted 40 goals. This year he's not even tracking for 40 points. He'll be a UFA after next season and if his production stay where it is now, he's not going to have much trade value and likely bolts for more money in the KHL.
- Jurmo & Brzustewicz are both projects, who (based on reports) need to work on their game in their own end. These guys are still likely 2-3 years away from even sniffing the CGY line-up.
In the end both teams got what they were looking for/needed in a deal. I just think 5-6 years from now we'll look back on this and say CGY doesn't have much to show from dealing Lindholm.

Let's assume you aren't going to send him in the division for obvious reasons
NYR is set at LD, as is Philly, Carolina. Pittsburgh doesn't have the cap, washington won't be buying rentals. Islanders will be looking for a righty.
Anaheim, Seattle, Calgary, SJS, Chi, Minnesota, STL not buying.
VGK LAK Van and Winnipeg are set on the left, Edmonton is capped out. Nashville doesn't have a need.
Dallas would need to move out salary. Colorado doesn't have cap space and has other needs.
Will AZ be buying and willing to send out a 3rd for Gryz? Are the islanders gonna shell out their cap space and a 3rd on Gryz?</div></div>
Time will tell. :cool

If moved at TDL then his cap hit would prorated for what's left of the season. For rough math we'll say only 25% of the season remains after the TDL. That would mean Grz would carry a cap hit to his new team of under $1 million for the rest of the season.

Here you'd be getting a late round pick (which is very little but isn't nothing) for him. We'd also be happy to send that pick along to calgary on your behalf instead for example</div></div>
A late 5th rounder has about a 15% chance of playing at least 99 games in the NHL. Brendan Smith LOL. The only thing I'll ever remember him for is when he was with DET and trying to act like a tough guy. As soon as Chara offered to go with him, Smith looked like a scared child who was about to **** his pants while Chara laughed at him.
