I actually don't think New Jersey needs to make this trade, but it's an option I wanted to explore because Gibson and Henrique rumors are quite intriguing and New Jersey may be a serviceable destination. Definitely not an easy trade to execute for either team involved, but intriguing regardless.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Bottom-6 Boqvist and backup Vanecek are no improvement on Henrique and Gibson, especially if Vanecek ends up costing us more for his two seasons than two seasons of Gibson would cost us.
The charm of including Vanecek in any proposed trade is vitiated by the fact that we think Lukas Dostal (whom you failed to re-sign) has a brighter future than Vanecek does. And for the next two seasons, he's a LOT cheaper.
Any Gibson trade starts with a 2023 first. You can argue that it ends there -- that's an opinion that's shared by many -- but that's where it starts. Add a first for any significant retention.
We have no incentive to move Rico. The acquiring team has to give us one, inasmuch as he would be the perfect linemate for Adam Fantilli. Frankly, Boqvist and the over-the-horizon second wouldn't make my fingers twitch.
You can say THAT again.
Good value for NJD because we're getting stolen blind.</div></div>
What's with the aggression bud? I understand you have fair criticisms for the trade but bashing my simulations this much is quite unusual for a GM tool that is truthfully basic. Labelling Boqvist as a bottom-six forward is underselling the top six ceiling still existent in his game (and encouraging signs displayed for the Devils).
Also Gibson is not the goaltender Ducks fans believe he is, despite being a near-elite goaltender at this level.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NJDevils1317</b></div><div>What is with the thinking the Devils should go after 30 yr old goalies with term well into their 30s?</div></div>
The intention behind a trade such as the one I simulated above is to rapidly leverage the beginning of an already accelerated contention window with a near elite goaltender at reduced price alongside the complete solidification of the forward core with Henrique. If New Jersey can field a team such as the one above, they may have an opportunity to be among the best in the NHL (with a finish perhaps at or higher than last season). Some issues may lie in the long-term scope of the Gibson contract, but the cap hit is not large enough to paralyze the Devils team-building wise.

From the reaction of Ducks fans in the replies I can definitely infer as such. Although I feel as if Gibson is greatly overvalued by the team and its fans alike.

I originally had a first alongside those picks but I removed it following some discussion with other fans. I'll modify the trade on both of the simulations and see the feedback.

I wouldn't be happy with this trade (especially as a Bruins fan myself) but I could see this trade being reasonably executed for the Bruins if they are desperate for some forward upgrade due to a sudden loss of forward depth (which may occur with the exits of Bergeron, Krejci, and Bertuzzi all possible). A trade like this may be best rationalized if Boston cannot afford Bertuzzi and acquires a slightly cheaper top nine winger in Garland (for example).

He will have to if he plans to leverage the spike in Karlsson's trade value for any significant stock. I'm sure he'll push for better than I notated above but it's incredibly unlikely Grier secures a massive package for Karlsson with that contract (even when retained, which has been essentially considered necessary for any discussion of a trade such as).

San Jose will not likely get much more than the return listed in my simulation. Despite a resurgence in his value, it doesn't exactly appear teams are willing to take on a tumor of a contract despite any effectiveness he's regenerated in the past two seasons. The Sharks didn't even receive a great return for Timo Meier, who on a long-term scale is far more appealing than Erik Karlsson.

I'll try another Bruins Hawks trade involving Forbort and observe some more Hawks-centered feedback.

For some reason I though F/C stood for "Forward/Center" but I believe it is "Future Considerations." Wouldn't mind it from a Bruins perspective honestly.

The overage is already accounted for by CapFriendly. Originally, I had to set it myself, but CapFriendly incoporated the overages a couple of days ago.
Also, keep in mind that this is just the first version of a simulation I'll be spending several weeks modifying. Just gauging feedback and suggestions as this will eventually be featured in an Instagram post and blog post of mine.

I intended to sign him to a multi-year contract. May have been a simple mistake I made as it was one of the first moves I made in this simulation. Should be fixed shortly.
