No. Detroit isn't trading 9OA.

I like Hertl a lot, but I highly doubt the Wings trade 2 first overalls (including a top 10) for a 29 year old. It doesn't fit their rebuild timeline at all

I didn't select the desired draft pick for the trade. I seem to make mistakes on this website in plentiful amounts neutral

San Jose isn’t retaining half of Karlsson and trading a possible 1st for that piss poor return

Mike Grier isn't eating 50% on Karlsson for the next 4 years, Especially not for that offer anyways.

San Jose will not likely get much more than the return listed in my simulation. Despite a resurgence in his value, it doesn't exactly appear teams are willing to take on a tumor of a contract despite any effectiveness he's regenerated in the past two seasons. The Sharks didn't even receive a great return for Timo Meier, who on a long-term scale is far more appealing than Erik Karlsson.

He will have to if he plans to leverage the spike in Karlsson's trade value for any significant stock. I'm sure he'll push for better than I notated above but it's incredibly unlikely Grier secures a massive package for Karlsson with that contract (even when retained, which has been essentially considered necessary for any discussion of a trade such as).

And fat chance i see Karlsson waiving for Buffalo, He wants to play for a legit contender. And Buffalo isn't one yet.

So in this case, San Jose should simply keep Karlsson for the duration of his contract.

So sharks give up potentially a 1st and give Erik Karlsson, a 100 point player, to Buffalo for less than…$6 mil aav and they only net a 2nd 3rd and third pair D? That’s more asinine than suggesting they get a haul for him. Retain over $20 mil? Asinine.

There are 43 other defenseman who make $6 mil or more in the nhl this season and the closest to Karlsson had 76 points. Nearly a 30 point difference. The slander of Erik Karlsson still continues even after doing something that had not been done in 30 years. Y’all keep moving the goalposts
