Where do you go from here
Re-sign Derek Grant.
Make an offer to Dylan DeMelo.
Consider making an offer sheet for Eric Cernak.
Use this year's draft pool's unusual wealth of right-handed defense prospects to stock that position pipeline for the foreseeable future (maybe make a trade to acquire another second-round draft pick to do so).

Reminds me of a movie I once saw...The Shawshank Redemption. When you get out of jail or break out of jail for a crime you didn’t commit, your spirit is free to soar, like the scene where Andy locked the wardens door ands played the operetta over the speakers. Sonny’s spirit is now free to soar.

Its Always Sonny In Anaheim
Let’s face it...it was a no win situation for the Jackets. Sonny has a ton of talent, but his personality and style clashed with Torts. It happens all the time, everywhere. Sports, school, corporate America. Personality styles clash sometimes. CBJ could have held on to him, benching him night after night, or playing him and worrying about how/why he was not buying into the Torts system. He basically checked out. The trade helped both teams, acknowledging the Jackets would never receive a decent return because of his lack of performance/stats. I hope Milano does well for the Ducks (except when they play the Jackets). And maybe Shore won’t fall short himself. Nuff said.

A lot of Lindholm trades lately
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Shore, Grant, Rowney, Deslauriers, Holzer and MDZ could all be moved but they have little to no value. Maybe even Miller if he wants but doubt it. I think they add a significant piece in the offseason. Maybe 2 and are a playoff team next season and depending on the play of Terry, Steel, Comtois and Jones become pretty serious contenders.</div></div>
I would hate to see the Ducks move Deslauriers, Grant or Rowney. They have formed as effective a fourth line as one can expect and breaking up that line for the minimal return one of them might bring seems short-sighted to me, because there is no assurance that whoever comes in to replace the departed player will provide an upgrade.

A lot of Lindholm trades lately
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Arlotti47</b></div><div>It would have to be an absurdly good trade if we were to give up Lindholm. Example: Giroux, Matthews, Barzal, Tavares, Keller, Petterson, Draisitl</div></div>
I mean, as a ducks fan, I’d love all of that (minus Giroux...on the down swing of his prime years), but it ain’t happening.
So yes, I agree with the OP that Lindholm shouldn’t be traded (nor should Fowler or Manson).
if we had Manson for the past few weeks, are we 2 pts out of the playoffs? In them? Heck, if the Ducks can find a solid top 4 RHD this summer, all of the sudden, they’ve got another year under the belts of Steel, Comtous, Terry, etc., and actually have a solid core moving forward.
If they’re out of it at the deadline, I’d consider moving:
-Silfverberg (unlikely)
-Ritchie (if the price is right)
-Shore
-Mayyyybe Rakell (the price HAS to be right. Don’t sell low on him)
-Larsson or Guhle (If you can do it in a package to get that RHD that’s needed.
-The UFA’s like Del Zotto, Holger, etc, that you’re not getting back much for.
Would just love to watch this squad with a healthy couple of weeks. One of the top 2 goalies on the planet.

That depends on your definition. If you are asking if he’s first pair type. Yes. If you are asking if he is an elite top 20 overall type...no.

No. But when the ducks won the Jennings trophy a couple seasons ago he and Lindholm were the biggest reasons why outside of the goalie play. As <a href="/users/Salzy" target="_blank">@Salzy</a> said he’s worth more to the ducks than the rest of the league.

l agree with all of my fellow Ducks colleagues -- he's the best we have at RD but he's not in the top tier of RD's in the League.
So if you take him away, imagine how terrible our defense would be.

He’s a solid top pair defenceman but is not in the top tier of the league

The saddest part is Gudbranson is so statistically bad that Holzer would actually make more sense playing with Lindholm.</div></div>
Pettersson is a LD.

NHL competent RD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>I just figured that if the ducks want to upgrade their d without long term commitment Ceci makes sense.
Ceci is a decent d who has just been asked to do too much in his career.
Playing 19minutes against mid tier opposition he can excel.
If the Leafs need to dump cap he could probably be had for minimal cost. Win win</div></div>
Before Gudbranson sure but they already added a guy with poor analytics. They shoulda traded for Honka tbh. He fits the team better age and development wise.

(ANA/PIT) - Martinsen for Gudbranson
In most of my Pittsburgh posts I had Anaheim giving the Pens a fifth-rounder for him, so Martinsen plus a seventh isn't far off. This isn't a question of whether it's a good deal or a bad deal for the Ducks -- it was a necessary deal. Otherwise, the right side of Anaheim's defense would be Korbinian Holzer, the rookie Haakanpaa and three guys playing on their off side.

Of all the cities to make $11mil a year USD coasting on a failing team, Los Angeles would have to be a pretty sweet one to work/live in. Especially since he's won two cups. That's more than how many TEAMS let alone players? SO I Doughty leaves ;)

Hardly. Sharks had three 4 game losing streaks last year and one 7 game losing streak. Sharks controlled a good 50-60% of the game against Nashville just allowed to many odd man rushes. Our biggest hole is still in Goaltending where Martin Jones has lost his game again.
