I'm guessing Hartman wanted too much $ from Philly so they moved him. Not sure why Dallas wouldn't qualify him if they actually wanted to discuss keeping him.

Ehlers is only scratching the surface in terms of his potential. not to mention that he is our fastest player.
Therefore, I humbly disagree

Bob McKenzie had him making 6.5-6.75 on the open market, and the flyers were not his first choice, so you pay him an extra 250k to stay.... I don't mind it</div></div>
Gee, I hate the the thought of a UFA, not really wanting to play in my city/team, but I'll do for a few more dollars. The best players to have are ones that are enthused to sign into their team.
It's like a an ordinary guy in the work force who takes a transfer or promotion to a place where he really doesn't want to work. Sure the additional pay is nice, but that's not so important in a short period of time. For Hayes sakes, good luck to him. Hope he performs well for his team mates, club and fans.

There’s more to it than that IMO. Niskanen has an extra year on his contract which is huge for us, his style of play also better suits a top 4 role paired with Provorov or Sanheim. He had a down year last year, but was also recovering from a concussion.
The dude was a top 4 D on the Stanley Cups champs less than 13 months ago. I agree there are some angles of this trade that aren’t good, but people are overreacting by saying this was a brain dead move

Frost is a top 5 contender for Calder next year. I don't even think PHI would trade him for anyone other than a star, elite and proven playr.
Vancouver is the only team here that considers that deal.

It really depends on your team's needs.
Usually the wisest thing to do is to take the best player available. If Knight reaches his potential, he could very well be that.
Solid 1Gs are usually far more valuable than a 2nd line LW, if we were to assume that PHI would draft Peyton Krebs for example.

Cool. Philly can have Miller and #17 for 11th. I'm sure Knight will still be available there. Vegas will draft Dach or Broberg.

I think your forgetting that demand raises costs. if only one person is willing to take Smith and miller, they might as well accept any offer they can get. Does anyone here not think that there would be a plethora of teams interested in one or the other guy?
No one is risking playing the waiting game on either guy. If they're available teams will bite. I do feel the Philly 1st is way too high though. It would have to be a later 1st to be more realistic.

I don't know if they will get ONLY roster players, but I do agree that they aren't really looking towards the future right now. Faksa is obviously an every day player. Dellandrea COULD be ready this season. He'll get his 9-game tryout for a team to decide on that. If not, then he goes back to the OHL and he's ready next year. Not too much of a future projection. I don't know if a team is going to be able to deal 3+ roster players that will satisfy Philly's needs. You know?
