Overpay a UFA or overpay in a trade. Either way you’re overpaying someone for these types of players. Why do you think they make so much for so long? Pageau, Cizikas, Goodrow, Coleman, Coyle, heck even Toews was overpaid by the Hawks. Those kind of glue guys are what separates winners from pretenders. Buffalo doesn’t have those guys yet.

He’s worth significantly more than that. Buffalo showed again that they can’t defend.

24-25 This Team Could Take A Run At Matthews
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>It’s called resigning players my man
This year alone we have Zegras Terry Drysdale Dostal Comtois plus more and that’s easily 20+ million probably closer to 25</div></div>
Comtois is expendable, Zegras Asians Terry will get around 8M each, Drysdale won’t sign for much given his injuries I’d expect a 2-3 year bridge deal, and Dostal won’t cost a ton. That should come out to around 20 million. Once a couple contracts come off the books like Henrique’s there will be even more money. Look at how I gave Matthews 15M and there is still a lot of cap space.

How would they not have the money? They have more cap space than anyone.

No. Horrible idea. Clifton is both better, and more versatile than schenn. The bruins should not be making themselves worse because it could be cheaper to sign a guy next year. Just, no.</div></div>
Schenn has had an excellent season. It doesn’t hurt the team to make that move.

Selling between now and the Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pretzelcoatl</b></div><div>Maybe you should've checked Meier's stats before quoting Terry's at me.
Terry: 49-46--95 (107 gp)
Meier: 61-55--119 (120 gp)
Their both being RFAs means that they'll have similar contracts, likely around 8x8. If Meier is worth Holtz and a 1st, Terry isn't worth any more than that.</div></div>
The trade is at the deadline, meaning you save almost 5 million up front between Terry and Meier.

Selling between now and the Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IcetoMeetYou33</b></div><div>Agreed but I think Kane would always be traded first with his pedigree and since he's worth less. Terry being an RFA could be a big deterrent if they don't know what he'll sign for with the cap only going up one million most likely. Could be a bad year to be a seller, whereas next year will be a great year imo. Lots of injuries creating cap space for this year though, so its anyones guess who will go big</div></div>
Selling Terry between the TDL and the offseason is the only option because otherwise I think he’s signed at at least 7 million per year for 6-8 years.

Selling between now and the Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pretzelcoatl</b></div><div>Yes, I am well aware. Terry is more or less as good as Meier, and both are controlled assets. The most common Meier trade proposed is Holtz and a first, with the Sharks taking cap or retaining. You're overvaluing your player and undervaluing the Devils' assets.</div></div>
Meier makes 6 million dollars. Terry makes 1.4 million. Both are RFAs. Terry has 95 points in the last 107 games between all of last season and this season thus far.

Selling between now and the Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IcetoMeetYou33</b></div><div>Blackwood doesn't make sense for me in it either, Ducks want Dostal in the NHL. Terry could be a forty goal scorer playing with Hughes. It'll be interesting if Ducks see him as a cornerstone or try to create a bidding war over him, could all depend on Kane and what he garners in a trade too</div></div>
Kane won’t be worth what Terry would be on the trade market. If the Ducks make him available he will be the most in demand player in the league.
