The real question is which of these two is the most worthy runner up, Miracle or Goon?

There are so many awesome flicks out there that capture the essence of the sport. But if I had to pick one, I'd go with "Slap Shot." It's an absolute gem! "Slap Shot" has it all – laughs, drama, and some epic on-ice action. Paul Newman as player-coach Reggie Dunlop is pure gold, and you can't help but get caught up in the crazy antics of the Charlestown Chiefs. It's a wild ride from start to finish.

Slapshot 100% and not even close.

I still haven't seen Youngblood as I've heard it's a good one (too cheap, waiting for it to be free on streaming somewhere). I did like Goon, but Miracle is #2 without a doubt (maybe outside of USA there is a debate).

The Red Penguins was an extremely entertaining documentary that should rank up there as well.

In my opinion, the best hockey movie of all time is "Miracle" (2004). This inspiring film tells the true story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team and their incredible journey to victory. It captures the essence of teamwork, determination, and the power of belief. "Miracle" is a must-watch, as it beautifully captures the magic of the sport and the indomitable spirit of the players.

Miracle is fantastic and my personal favorite, but I can see how it wouldn't resonate with non-Americans.

Yeah, that was a good one. Have you seen the 30 for 30 called "Of Miracles and Men"? It's a look at the 80 Miracle on Ice from the Russian perspective. Super interesting watch.

Yep that was great perspective on a defining moment too.

I just watched the Don Cherry movies with Jared Keeso and thought they were pretty good too. I know they are biased towards his good attributes but still worth watching.
