San Jose Sharks signed Collin Graf (3 Years / $1,283,333 AAV)
He probably chose San Jose because he'll slot into the top six immediately, whereas anywhere else he'd be either on the fourth line or working up from the AHL.

I just went through every Yotes ACGM since March 7th (it's only 2 pages so not too many) and there were only 2 posts with Lawson Crouse trades. One was posted by an Oilers fan, and the other a Hurricanes fan. So no I have not seen whatever you are talking about in the past few days

If every team has a crew looking at every entry to determine offsides the league should employ a team aswell. If there's an offside review that takes more than 30seconds the goal should stand.

I like the idea that if they cannot decide an offside, equipment issue aside, within a timeframe, say 30 seconds of viewing the play, the call stands. If you have to rewatch a 5 second clip more than 6 times, and still decide you need to watch it more, you’re not sure, and calls should only be changed when they’re sure. No need to keep everybody in suspense for 5 minutes. But I also don’t hate the leagues concept of “just get it right”. That’s okay too. It just has the annoying downside that sometimes extremely minor things are put under a microscope for too long. I think we have to do it the nhls way if they’re giving out penalties for being wrong to challengers.
I wouldn’t be shocked if the future the blue line goes in OT - the constant backtracking is kinda not excellent for viewing - so you might get a taste of the league without blue lines for your consideration. Although I bet if they do this some poor linesman will blow a play dead for offsides on reaction and it would be a cluster.

On the LTIR issue:
I'd be less doubtful over how it is being used and the coincidence of those players being available at exactly the right time, if there were also instances of players coming back at the wrong time and throwing a wrench into the whole thing to force their team over the cap.

You might be able to swing that Kampf deal with someone, he's more likely to be a dump but, not impossible someone pays a little something.
Robertson and McBain are either equal or McBain is more valuable, I don't see how a 24yr old 6'4 center playing consistently in the NHL is less valuable than a 5'9 winger that can't keep his spot on the lineup of a team looking for consistent depth scoring

I hope the blues stick with this as our first power play. It’s so solid. Kyrou is super effective - even tho it’s a demotion, the second power play unit with him will be dynamic and potent. Same with Buchnevich, altho him on defense is fine too.</div></div>
I have always been completely for putting Thomas and Kyrou on separate lines. We have two elite transition forwards, it seems silly to play them together. There's only one puck on the ice at a time. I'd rather have two lines with an elite transition forward than one. Especially considering the fact that transition is how we score the most.

Russian goaltender Artemi Pleshkov just made 124(!) save in a game, yet his team lost 1 - 0. Absolutely unreal performance from the guy, I recall stumbling across his player profile last year when Byron Bader posted his player card last season. The only reason he's undrafted right now is because of his 5'10 frame.
Regardless, 124/125 is ridiculous

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>It was like that in the offseason too. Bought out half decent Veterans players and then signed other Veteran players to the same contract. Not sure what the plan is there.</div></div>
My impression is that the individuals they bought out/traded were not ideal individuals for a rebuild situation.
In a competitive environment where the load is shared and accountability exists (Dallas), Matt Duchene is excellent. It seems anybody who plays under Jamie Benn is excellent, maybe because he would snap spines in half for fun if he were crossed.
In a rebuild environment where Duchene is the primary guy…..
I don’t think that’s a good idea, and nobody taking him off nashvilles hands for 50% off (similar to Kevin hayes) I think shows that his reputation exists.
Johansen is like this except 10 times worse, perhaps an individual where at this point you simply wouldn’t want him in the org at all. Not for half off of half off. Not for free. Just please no thank you sir enjoy your retirement and best wishes.
Sometimes the move is just to improve culture. Seems to have worked. Petulance/Laziness per 60 went way down. You can’t have a bunch of younger folk idolizing some vets who stopped being hungry 6 years ago. I don’t blame them at all. Either party. Give me $80 mil in career earnings and you’ll find out real fast that I’m no longer into long term physical side effects. If you think imma go into a board battle at full speed, block shots face forward, or at all, you’re kidding yourself.

Not sure what you expect. You can't just tell the ref to effoff and refuse to serve a penalty.
You can throw a fit on the way out, damage is done at that point, but you still have to leave.

Not really, Torts got ejected, Torts should’ve just walked off there and then instead of saying F you, I’m not leaving, that was basically a guarantee Torts was gonna get a big fine. With what he did, I guess a suspension makes sense, it also tells other coaches not to do that

(PIT/CAR) - Guentzel, Smith for Bunting, Koivunen, Ponomarev, Lucius, 2024 2nd (PHI), 2024 5th (CAR)
So many overreactions to this deal, in my opinion. Especially after seeing the market, Dubas did well for himself. No top tier prospects got moved <strong>anywhere</strong>... unless you're being charitable and include Erstrom to san Jose. (Maybe Erstrom will be a great NHL player, but I'm unconvinced, as of this post.)
And the elephant in the room is, even as good as Guentzel is, the Penguins just can't keep hanging on to all these players. Guentzel's going to be 30 soon. The last thing the Penguins need is another 30+ year old player on a long, expensive contract. This was a painful but necessary move. And if one or two of Ponomarev, Koivunen, Lucius, and the pick(s) become reliable middle six players, I actually think that's fine. The player(s) replacing Guentzel don't have to fill his exact role. If they fill another role, and allow the flexibility to get a younger 1st line winger in another trade or free agency, you still accomplished your goal.

I've seen fans trip about it but I'm gonna say it.
San Jose did really well in Hertl deal. Say what you want but I think Grier's done a nice job there. There is few teams I geniuinly think a tear down is neccesary and San Jose is one of them. They had no prospects and long expensive contracts on guys pushing 30 when Grier got there. He's slowly but surely rebuilding a base there, it's gonna take a while but considering all those contracts player were overpaid he's done fairly well imo.
He's came away with Edstrom, 1st, and likely a pick around 12th overall for guys who had no value to them anymore. They had no future of possibly competing with those guys on the roster. Also clearing about 17m in long term cap space.

Keep an eye on #VegasBorn today... some noise the Golden Knights pivoted after losing out on Guentzel. We'll see if they can pull off something big. Per

, VGK has just over $4.72M in LTIR cap space.</div></div>
He's really going out on a limb here. Guentzel wasn't their guy, especially with an enigma like Mantha. They tend to go for 2-way players with term.
If the price for Dowd comes down, they might keep Roy at 3c and Stephenson at wing and bring him in.
