Rittich has played better than Mrazek and Calgary just sighed Gawdin who was free for anyone to sign. I think Calgary will stick with Rittich unless a better more experienced goalie with playoff experience like a Miller type goalie becomes available.

Bad idea to trade Kylington for a 30+ rental that won’t be resigned. Kylington can be traded for a prime player like Kane or Hoffman as long as Calgary is also willing to add more.

Why would t Calgary just make that trade with Detroit? They still get a great top right hand D. But without helping a rival in the west.

Remember the Eberle for Strome cap dum by Edmonton. If they need to remove more cap before McDavids contract kicks in they will be losing RNH for another 3rd line player.

Fresh Starts
Bennett has 15 points now in 36 games and is Calgary's 7th most points for their forwards.
Duclair has 13 points in 29 games and is Arizona's 7th most points for their forwards.
This kind of seems like a wash but I do believe Bennett has greater potential then Duclair, Bennett is a year younger and has picked up his play significantly in the last 10-15 games as his first half so far he had no points. I can't imagine any GM that would trade Bennett straight across for Duclair. Besides you have put Duclair on the 4th line so you're trading a 3rd line left wing for a 4th line and Bennett is signed for an additional year.

Statistically Monahan is better than Barkov. They were drafted in the same year and Monahan leads his draft class. He is producing better than Mackinnon who fend 1st overall. He is not available.

And then next year with a new 4th line - Hammer goes home
I disagree with the above statement. Hamonic was never brought in the put up points. He and Larsson in Edmonton play a very similar game. Hamonic has played a few more games than Larsson but their points are pretty equal. 5 for Hamonic 4 for Larsson. Larsson got Hall so Hamonic should get good quality if traded. At least a top line forward. If it's not to Winnipeg, someone else will (and for someone with term left)

The Flames and Sabres have been scouting each other.
Evander Kane, Benoit Pouliot, Sam Reinhart, Josh Gorges, Robin Lehner and Chad Johnson have been in the rumor mill of late.
The Flames have been looking for some depth at forward, and there have been some reports that they might be willing make a move involving their blue line.

Flames don't want Hoffman and no-one wants to lose Frolik. Frolik is needed on the team to shut down the best players on the other teams, his worth is not points based. Calgary does need a big trigger man in the mould of Nash, Kane, Boeser etc. NOT saying Calgary can get any of those players. Hoffman is getting paid too much to never be a 30 goal man (yes if he was healthy he may have made it a few years ago). Maybe Calgary could get the overpaid Stastny for a push through the playoffs as he has good playoff performances (could play center or wing)

Arizona does not own Datsyuk's rights. He is a free agent in the NHL, however, St. Petersburg SKA in the KHL does have a contract with him and therefore, without the permission of the KHL cannot sign a contract in the NHL this year. Also, Arizona does not want or need 2 #7 defensemen.

Mitch Marner? making 1 Million Dollars? He's due to make 6 million on his next contract. That D is still pretty weak. Keller will never be traded until he demands to leave the desert. No way Nurse only signs for 1 Million when Russell is making 4

Analyzing teams that actually want Price
Typically Goalies don’t get much in return. Look st some of the best that have been traded. Schneider got a first, Talbot a couple picks not a first. Luongo, Smith. You might be able to get a first and a serviceable player but you won’t get an amazing return. Especially with a 10.5 million contract about to kick in.

Haha no thanks. As great as Price is (usually) Calgary has to worry about resigning Thachuk, Backlund, etc. They Cannot afford a 10.5 million player especially for their most dynamic, highest producing player.

You just traded 3 terrible overage players to a young team for a top line left wing? Maybe add something they need like a Defenseman maybe Benning or Jones to start.

Big Shake Up
I like the idea of bringing in Nash, Zabinejad is just too expensive to trade for and have on the roster. He’s a top 2 line player who won’t play well ina D role for Calgary. I think the Strome, Merkley trades aren’t needed at all and Mangiapane is still a year away from making the team. Jagr will do as much this year and can shield Mangi for 1 more year. I would like to see Hathaway in the NHL. He plays hard and Calgary is needing that in the bottom lines.

Kulak is not ready for a top 4 role, why trade to fil the third center spot while we still have Jankowski? You’re giving up assets that we can’t afford to lose for a position we have players for. Brodie is much better than Gardiner.

Massive overvaluation of all 3 players. Jokinen isn’t even In the lineup, Letestu is a 4th line player and Maroon is only playing well because he’s lined up with McDavid.
Jokinen - 4th - 5th
Letestu - 3rd
Maroon - 2nd and maybe 4th

I’m impressed! I actually believe these prices are pretty fair although might have to remove the 2nd your getting back in the first trade. The only issue I see is you traddd away 6 million and got back 8 million for multiple years. Not sure how it would work with McDavids 12.5 million contract next year especially with Nurse, Maroon and Strome needing new contracts.

To go with my reply on your other post with this move by your own placement of players you basically admit that Calgary is way worse than before the move is made.
