LRRRRRR
Rangers have almost no centers in their pipeline. They have plenty of LWs coming up, there is a log jam in that area. The Rangers say no. They wouldn't want a 5ft 11 LW with a little upside for a 6ft 8 Center decent skater, good shoot who can play in the bottom 6

Thread:
Moving a 33 point scorer this year with term He was traded for a 7th once
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>Zero chance Rangers do this with Goodrow.
I wouldn't want his term, but he's the exact kind of piece the Senator would go after in terms of the identity and style of play they are trying to build. If this trade happens after his bonus, he will only be owed 2.5 million this season. The Senators are a budget team, not a cap team. They often make trades that lower their salary during the year they made the trade, but hurt them in the long run. So acquiring a big effective top 9 forward who is really cheap this year at the expense of paying him 5M the next two years is exactly what they would do.
If this trade actually happened, I think the Rangers might have to take Del Zotto, and the Senators would probably throw in a 2nd or 3rd round pick to compensate the Rangers for taking the salary dump. Del Zotto makes 2.25M against a 2M cap hit, and could play on the Rangers bottom pair. That would make the trade almost salary neutral this season for Ottawa. There would also be a weird additional pick where the Rangers get to upgrade a round late in the draft for no reason. Like they get Ottawa's 2024 5th round pick, and Ottawa gets the Rangers 2024 6th round pick.
So I'd say Del Zotto, 2023 OTT 2nd, 2024 OTT 5th for Goodrow, 2024 NYR 6th. This isn't me saying I'd make this trade, it's more me jumping into Dorion's skin and saying how I think the Senators would format the trade. They would get off on the idea that Goodrow was a major piece for two big playoff teams, and he represents the Senators becoming a bigger tougher team to play against.
With that said, the Senators are often overly concerned with term for players who aren't stars, so that might be the deal breaker. The trade would be reamed, because instead of acquiring Goodrow, they could have kept Nick Paul, who would play a similar role. I get that they got Joseph for Paul, but that is how it would be seen.</div></div>
If the Rangers made the original deal it would be for a cap dump. They only have 11 plus mill in cap space. Goodriw was brought in the bring a physical style of play to the bottom 6, plus his playoff experience. They are not looking to dump his cap yet. But to say the Rangers would have to take Del Zotto would make zero sense. Why cap dump trade to take back cap. The moving other picks also makes zero sense. 1st the Rangers already had Del Zotto and he was hated here. 2nd He wouldn't make the 3rd pair, I don't think he would make a 5th pair if that was a thing. 3rd not giving up a good player in an area of need for a bad player in an area that the Rangers have a supply of just so they can have an extra mid round pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FanOfAllTeams</b></div><div>Strome scored 54 and 9 in playoffs. What are the complaints about according to fans?</div></div>
His numbers are inflated because of Panarin. He is awful on faceoffs. He always takes 1 stupid penalty per game. He has missed more open nets than can be counted. He is a 3c playing on the 2nd. His people said he would take 6.5 mill per as a team discount. The Rangers have only 11 plus mill in cap. They need to sign 8 players. His points, not only are because of Panarin, but he always seems to score when the Rangers already have a 3 point lead, or down by 4 toward the end of the 3rd. They are garbage points

95 percent of Ranger fans want Strome gone. This trade doesn't help at all for the Rangers. A player who could play wing or center all over the bottom 9 Brings what is needed in the playoffs for a 5th. Really

No I don't obviously, but this is where we use common sense. The Panthers have few years now where they will win the Atlantic or be pretty close. So let's say their pick will be 20 or more. I'm thinking 25 or more actually. Next year if you can assure 10 or less then I will stay on the phone for a bit. Other than that it will be a 1st plus

Rangers tell Gorton they still don't like him and hang up. Lafreniere would cost 1st plus. The Rangers MIGHT do the 2022 1st over all for Lafreniere, not a very late 1st. There would definitely have to be more added to it

Patty kane goes to a respectable organization
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruinz_16</b></div><div>Not quite enough for CHI, but, I like the concept. At some point Chicago would love to have 10mil of cap room during a rebuild. I’d listen to an offer but it needs to include many picks, prospects and the Statue of Liberty’s left foot.</div></div>
Kane has a FULL NMC. He will give 2 or 3 teams he might want to go to. Those 2 possible 3 teams have all the leverage. The return will be an NHL ready player, prospect, 1st maybe another 3rd. Plus Chicago is going to retain money. Not the multiple picks and prospects like you said. That is if Kane wants to leave. He has said he has no problem going through a rebuild.

2 bottom 6 forwards, ok. Kakko playing 1RW when he got hurt. He played his best hockey this year as 2RW. That is top 6. Chytil is 3rd C/W so I'll give you that. Then you say top 6 D. There is usually only 6 D dressed for a game. To be honest as a Ranger fan Hajek has been a healthy scratch the majority of the season. That doesn't make him top 6 anything

My point being Gorton screwed up with the Kravstov pick, and then they promised him the world. He needed a little more time in the AHL and the new group didn't keep Gorton and friends stupid promises. Hence the only reason he won't play for the Rangers. Maybe Gorton will reach again for Kravstov
