Rebuild
The problem i have with this is that you’ve moved marchand, pasta, and debrusk, and i don’t really see a piece in there that can be the next legit 1C in Boston. Maybe it’s Mercer? I kinda doubt it though. Maybe jerseys pick next year is really good, but i also kind of doubt it. I say just get the 2OA and be done with it.
That being said, Neely says he plans to extend Sweeney, which is brutal, and Sweeney says he plans to extend pastrnak. Seems to me like the bruins need to luck into a center.

Can't see the Devils moving all of that even for a great player like Pasta. That's too much for a team that isn't there yet and should rely on cheap talent that Holtz and Mercer will be for years to make up for the heavier contracts.

I agree. Wonder if Coyotes push hard for one of Spence or Durzi instead of Grans tho

That’s the exact deal that was in one of my AGMs for Chychrun. Unsure if I published it or not

This would be hilarious
I just dont think Nylander would be a great fit on BOS, although i know him and Pastrnak have a history. I would think Boston would be looking for prospects/picks if they were to move 63.

Trade Fiala Dumba and Talbot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Racki</b></div><div>What would you give up?</div></div>
A combo of these pieces could/should potentially be available:
Mittelstadt, Olofsson, FLA 1st, and prospects Portillo & R.Johnson
Other pieces could be available as well, but those are the obvious ones of value that we might logically be willing to part with

I like Walker, but I can't imagine the Devils would trade for him. Grans on the other hand.

Keeping Fiala
Vanecek (RFA rights) for Talbot
I don't think that the Caps do this. Talbot is going to be 35 years old and $3.7M cap hit, 1 year. It's just not the right return for Vanecek.

Sharks
Love the Nichushkin signing. Sharks need to sign either him or Marchment to play on their 2nd line for next year.
Substitute in Bordeleau for Rask. Gregor at this point is 100% far higher up the depth chart than Dahlen. And SJ fans are scarred for life after the first half of the season with the Nieto-Bonino-Labanc line, we won't see a repeat of that. Replace Labanc with Reedy/Chmelevski and it works though.
If SJ wants to go after a LDman in the offseason, Zadorov is high on my list of realistic guys to sign. If they're to trade for someone who'd likely be available, I'd go with Reilly from BOS. Dillon really took a step back this year IMO and wouldn't bring anything all that much better than what they got from Vlasic this year.

This is an interesting team, I don't know what happened to Samuelsson? He's a legit #2LD, best pair for Dahlin. Meaning Murray isn't needed, or Shultz. Signing Paul is interesting, Id like to keep the 3Cs we have in the center for another year so wouldn't sign strome. Replace him with Peterka. And run Thompson, Cozens, and Mittelstadt at Center.

But I also want McGroarty, simply because he has the greatest name ever.</div></div>
Cutter Gauthier is my guy from this year's draft. Also has a great name.

What a career for Dustin Brown
Never really a true superstar, but he was great for a long time, and to have such a long career speaks volumes. The fact that he was able to revive his career the way he did is remarkable. Most players who fall off like he did in the mid 2010s don't come back.

I always get vilified for asking a low price for Nylander. But the Leafs need cap space for a goalie. So will I would love a centre....maybe Byfield, that's move Kings wouldn't do.
But would take a first and third round pick

Be aggressive
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>UFA movement in the nhl is rare and requires exceptional circumstances. There is no reason to believe it will happen to Matthews outside of hate, stupidity, or wishful thinking. None of the required circumstances are present at all. The chance that he leaves literally isn't worth worrying about because the Leafs are such overwhelming favourites to keep him.
And the leafs don't really have holes. The d core is mostly set subject to some tweaking that won't cost much $$ wise. As I told you awhile ago Lily is HERE and is cheap. I shouldnt need to mention Sandin at this point either. The forward core is just minor stuff with RFAs and a host of NHL ready guys who are being held down due to our immense depth. Goaltending is really the only part that needs work and we have plenty of money to do it with. Everyone always overestimated the difficulty it will be for Toronto to do everything and they keep having it proven wrong every time. Remember Ritchie? That was a month ago lmao. We got positive (or more accurately neutral) value out of him.
I'm sorry Palhal but you do not seem in the slightest bit to be able to accurately assess the state of the Maple Leafs.
Hell maybe they do move willy. There were (very) minor rumours that haven't been substantiated about it, but we have no need to for cap purposes.
The leafs are fine and it's time people realised it. Most of the league is in considerably worse shape cap wise or have more/more significant holes to fill.
Or both.</div></div>
I'm sorry bud, you do seem in the slightest bit to be able to accurately the state of the Maple Leafs next summer.
Cap rises 1m. Reilly is getting a 2.5m raise, Sandin and Liljegren get raises. RFA Engvall gets a raise . Since you think UFA is rare movement , a suppose Mikheyev and Lybushin is gets a raise too and remain Leafs
Campbell at his current 1.6 gets a raise since you don't think UFAs don't move to the other teams....(or at least his replacement will)
Yeah, I don't understand your math.

I think he could, though that feels a bit rich...for now.
Ceulemans started slow, but finished the year really strong in the NCAA. Most people smarter than I see him as a project needing a few more years of seasoning, though.
So, even if he gets there, might not be for another 2-3 years.

IMO, a 2nd/3rd pairing guy. CBJ need more true RDs. I think Peeke has been filling in admirably, but 1D shouldn't be where he is playing long-term.

Goalies are so hard to predict. Peterson 27 hasn’t established him self as a #1 yet. Maybe blackwood on the right team may have higher upside. But the kings trading for Blackwood may take them a step back because he hasn’t proven much. Cal is better at this point IMO and that’s not saying much. Lol
Binnington fell off the map. Matt Murray fell of the map. It’s just so hard to get a read on goalies.
Like I said if the kings think they can “unlock” blackwood to be a good number 1 then maybe make the trade but it’s not happening I think kings brass still believe in Cal. If Cal can’t prove it by next year they seriously need to come up with something quick.

It’s so hard to value Blackwood right now. He has been hurt. Rumored to be discontent. Changed agents. And has given us mostly subpar performance for last year and a half. But he is young, has a ton of talent, just needs his head screwed on right.
I could see him going for Cal, but I’d hope to get a bit more out of it. Who knows.

My Lines tonight
I think that tonight's game is key. Win tonight and we have 88 points; win 4 of our remaining 7 games (just like it was a playoff series) and we reach the magic 96-point level. Moreover, we should be favorites or even to win 5 of those 7 games. Lose tonight, and we may not make the playoffs.
