I don't get the undervaluing KJ. He's in his D+3 season in the AHL, he'll be fine (Podz is in his D+5 for context).

He’s having a horrible sophomore slump and switched agents, and Columbus will never get the benefit of the doubt.

Been healthy scratched and now sent to the AHL. Also switched agents

Hronek or Andersson more valuable
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Reason</b></div><div>How's the overall value then? Hronek went for a 1st and 2nd. Is a 1st, good prospect (previous top 15 pick) and a young roster player a respectable offer?</div></div>
I think Hronek's success this year is a product of Hughes. Andersson is capable of succeeding by himself in first pair minutes, more so than Hronek at least.
I would say a 1st and a top rated prospect should do it.

Andersson is the better player IMO but given that Hronek is younger and cost controlled for probably longer, its maybe a little closer. If you're asking who'd cost more to acquire, Hronek last year's cost vs Andersson's now, I think its pretty safe to say Andersson now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Reason</b></div><div>Ya I'm not not sure I would even make the deal if I were Vancouver, not sure it makes sense for the Canucks to give up multiple young assets as they will need the ECL's in short order. I mostly just made it to gage value as I have seen some Andersson mock trades of late.</div></div>
I think I'd think about it depending where we are at the TDL I think ideally here I'd replace Hoglander with Klimovich and a late pick, losing Lekkerimäki would hurt but having Podkolzin in the system still softens the blow imho adding Andersson would solve a huge hole on the team, if we were able to move Myers in a separate trade I'd probably do this move at that point you could have Hronek, Andersson and potentially Ethan Bear as your right side for the year, and long term you can substitute Bear for Willander, i think this team would genuinely be able to have a deepish run with team being able to add a guy like Andersson

Andersson is more valuable. Hronek has been great, but Andersson is better, and has more term at a great team friendly cap hit
This package is probably around what his value is, maybe a slight overpay but you’d need to overpay to get Andersson

I'd say we are overpaying a tad here but that would be expected with trading a high end asset to a divisional rival, I'd agree Andersson would be in the Hronek/chychrun tier for what a return would be.

I'm a die hard Oilers fan, and i'll even go out of my way to say Andersson is very good. Much better than Hronek.

GET IT DONE TRELIVING
Canucks easily decline. Zero interest in Klingberg, we have too many offensively-minded defencemen already. Not to mention the fact that I’m not sure how $5 million in cap space magically appears for the Canucks to use on a player they have zero need for.

Vancouver can’t afford the players they already have. They’re certainly not adding more.
Columbus says just the pick is fine. Keep the body.

It would hurt to have to retain on Garland and I don't know that it really helps Nashville. Theyd probably just prefer a pick or a prospect instead of retention, no?

Canucks opening lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>PDG is still trending on the 2nd line? HOW?
This team looks worse and worse every time I look.
Middle 6 Forward- #1C- Top 6 Forward
4th Liner/Fringe NHLEr- #2C - Top 6 Forward
3rd liner with top 9 potential - 3rd liner - Top 9 forward
4th Liner - 4th Liner - 4th Liner
#1D - #5D
#5D - #3D
#AHLER - #5D
Starting Goalie
Good Back Up
Goaltending is fine. Defensive is sub par. Forward group is sub par. This is a very weak bubble team. (Perspective, I just listed Islanders as a strong bubble team).
I actually think this team is in the 8-14 pick mediocrity draft pick range. Which is the worst place for your organization to be. Too good to get a great pick. Too bad to even make the playoffs.</div></div>
Very accurate breakdown. The Canucks have the top end talent to be a good playoff team, but like you've outlined, they completely lack the depth required to be that team. They're stuck in lottery purgatory, not good enough to be a playoff team, but not bad enough to get a good pick. They'll probably fall in the 10-16 range, just like the past 2 seasons. They'll completely fall apart early in the season, but Demko will come around and pull the team out of the gutters, not quite enough to get them into the playoffs, but to keep them a step above the bottom feeders.

As much as I don’t think Pettersson will get moved, I certainly wouldn’t be disappointed with that return if it’s what it comes to.
