Outliers are not what you predict from. And good games are an outliers for Sammy. He's going to allow 3 goals and unless the PP goes off, we have no chance.

If Sammy gives us game 2 or 3 performance were fine.</div></div>
The problem is, when he ultimately lets in a bad goal it'll wreck the teams confidence. This is what he does. When it's vital to get a save he'll let in one from the point or from the side board. Sammy sucks.

Do that dont matter whose in net they should win especially if they can get that PP going
Start on time thats what's most important along with not going back to game 1,3,and 4 habits
But if he is out highlights one of the big issues in him in that man just cant stay healthy and come next year thats ot good as he's gonna need to at least play 30-45 games</div></div>
When Sammy lets in a stinker it'll just fall apart. Start Jones lol

What a stupid report. Unless this is Keefe being just stupid, if he comes out and says I just had a feeling Sammy needed this start, then win or lose he has to be fired.

The cap is also increasing every year which helps a lot.</div></div>
FA's are not going to help. Will be over priced.

Yeah... Because none of them are ****ing Crosby lol.</div></div>
You're missing the point big time. Even Matthews new deal which is the biggest in the league, that is still a smaller cap percentage than Crosby signed for. And Matthews is a top 3 player in the game. He isn't overpaid. Neither is Marner or Willy. JT at the time left money on the table to play in TO and he has 1 year left before getting a massive pay cut. But this is cap friendly, where all that matters is making stuff up to make bad articles.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Maniaked</b></div><div>Cernak: He has a no trade clause starting next year, if we trade him it's now. He has good enough value to get us picks and a depth piece in return.
Perbix: We have Crozier and Raddysh that can play a similar role. His contract is good enough value to get a 3rd back.
Paul: He is a 3rd line center with solid value, trading him only make sens if we get a young center back in another deal.
Jeannot: Basically a cap dump, I love him and would like to keep him but, unfortunately in Tampa, he can't play higher than the 4th line it seems like.</div></div>
Then you are just moving deck chairs. Moving non difference makers for different non difference makers does nothing to change the team. It's either going to be a slow decline into missing the playoffs ala Pittsburgh and Washington, or a bold retool. None of the core is getting younger.

Those guys are maybe on the ball 1/1000 takes.
oneX and Random2152 and Messier99 be more on the ball with what we are seeing.
Its a team sport and the leafs game 5 and 6 are playing exponentially better than game 1 to second period of game 4. Matthews being out woke them up and has caused this teams other players to step up.
PP still sucks along with the inability to score more than 2 12/13 but the bandaid has covered it up. Will it hold for game 7 idk lets see cause IMO for this team to win this crucial game PP will need to get going and were gonna need at least 3 goals or more</div></div>
Look, I won't say that everything you say is wrong. It isn't. Often you are not wrong.
For example, yeah the special teams has been a huge problem. Is it the only problem? Absolutely not, and that's where you get lost. You hyper focus on 1 or 2 things and ignore or downright refuse to accept anything else.
Is Matthews missing time forcing the team to up their game? Sure, is that the only reason they are doing so? Or even the biggest part? Highly unlikely. If playing without Matthews is a bigger motivator than not being eliminated this team has no chance and I don't believe for a second that it's even 10% of the motivation.
Pro hockey players want to win the cup, it's the dream and some figure out what it takes to make it happen. The sacrifice that is required, the level of battle you need, the knowledge that it's going to hurt but nothing matters but winning. JT isn't changing his mindset due to whoever is playing or not playing. Neither is Willy, Rielly or most others on the team. Marner may change his mindset but that's a Marner problem that still needs to be sorted out. The rest of the team though better be playing this way for 1 simple reason. You have to.
This is the playoffs, and this is how you win in the playoffs. And you need a goalie that makes the saves when you need them the most. Something we are now getting.
Moving forward, I should be more careful in answer absolutely to a statement that isn't absolutely wrong or correct. There is a lot of nuance in communication.

None of those guys matter and do you think you'll find better value? Jeannot at 2+ million to fight people and do nothing else doesn't have value. Paul is pretty good and cheap, but will you find better options at his cap hit? Tampa could retool around Vasi, Kucherov, Point and Sergachev. They could recoup some pretty great assets by moving Hedman as well, (unless he's willing to sign a crazy cheap extension). But it's pretty clear the depth of this squad just isn't there anymore.

I don't disagree but it would be a 1 for 1 trade. And for the first year or two could look a lot better for TO. It absolutely don't think it would ever happen. It would be maybe more likely that he leaves at the deadline and gives 1 or 2 options and that's all. At 50%, he'd bring back a pretty sick return, but it would be manageable. N

It's funny how this is bad but none of those players signed for as big a cap percentage as Crosby did when he signed his last deal and much less percentage than Malkin. It's a perspective thing and at this point considering how many teams have a top heavy pay structure (show me a team that doesn't, or at least doesn't have multiple bad contracts that hamper their cap more than elite players). Dubas didn't overpay anyone. It was a rising market and the pandemic kept the cap level for several seasons. Just let go of this nonsense rhetoric.
