I'm thinking it's more of a straight up homage to 'MURICAAAA! than anything else, which is why, as a Ducks fan, I'm content to sit back and smile.

Doigie hamilton darnell nurse and seth jones all got atleast 9 last offseason and none are top 10 dmen.
He will be a right shot top 4 dman going to open market he will get 9 if he really wants it.

Ben Chiarot value
Ya hughes hangs up pretty quickly. Dermitt is a negative calue asset and they can easily get better than a 3rd.

Actual value for Habs players
Yall gotta realize that player values are not based on how you view them as players but how the demand market is currently at. Thats how Chychrun is being valued like Eichel. There is a greater demand than supply for defencemen right now. Chiarot is dog****, believe me, but hes worth a 1st rounder ++ for desperate teams in need of defensive reinforcement. Its gonna be a bidding war for all of our UFAs and theyll get more in return then their value entails.

MTL TDL
1st Trade - Edmonton should have 0 interested in trading for Price. His age + injuries are very concerning. Montreal accepts this all day long
2nd Trade - Toffoli's actual value. Montreal accepts
3rd Trade - Lehkonen's value. Montreal accepts.

First of all: Why assume things you have no knowledge on? Your comment makes you seem pretty arrogant.
I watched all Habs playoff games in 2020 and 2021 except 3.
Okay, let's say you met him: does that change how "valid" your take is? No, it doesn't. Price has been one of my favorite players since his D+1 year, but I nevertheless try to stay objective when talking about him.
Price has a $10.5M deal until 2026 with a NMC. That contract is close to untradeable (if it's not someone like Vasy) without considerable retention. And $1M is not that. Additionally, he hasn't been good in 3 of the last 4 regular seasons. And he's 34 years old and likely won't play this season.

one or both picks in the Chicago trade would need to be better because of his term. Upgrade the 5th to our own third.

Montreal Final Lineup
We don’t need any insurance for Juulsen, one of Mete/Fleury can play on the right side, and if we need to call up someone else we have Leskinen/Olofsson/Ouellet.
Also, Claude Julien said it’s most likely that Romanov starts in the NHL, and coaches don’t say that sort of thing lightly.
Hudon isn’t re-signing in Montreal, he’s gone to play in Switzerland permanently. And if you don’t sign Bowey/Hudon, there’s no need to trade Pezzetta.
Otherwise, this looks really good.

If we are buying - MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>Sorry but Petry isnt a Pac....A captain vs a 2nd line RD...</div></div>
Your right, Petry has more value. Pacioretty had 1 year, Petry has 1 plus the remainder of this season. Pacioretty, a scoring winger, was coming off of an injury shortened season where his scoring rate would have had him scoring sub 50 even if he played the full 82, while Petry is a dman on pace for his 3rd straight 40+ point season and has missed 2 games in the past 3 seasons.
