Culmination of moves

Fast can do that, and can actually play hockey at the other end of the rink too.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>Any idea on how far away Samorukov is from the NHL?</div></div>
He'd be a legitimate bottom-pairing option by this time next season in my honest opinion. He's been doing great so far in limited minutes at the AHL level, and the organizational expectation is that his workload will increase from about this point onward until end of the season/playoffs. He was phenomenal at last year's WJC's and in the Memorial Cup, it won't take him long to transition to the professional level in either the AHL or NHL.

AJ jacubec said he is NHL ready at the beginning of the season, but i think he still needs to work on foot speed

Ten reasons why JC is a terrible coach
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>So you have inside sources that know everything about the organization?
I also assume that you're a head coach for a hockey team?
Impressive.</div></div>
Just listened to Laz and Powers "The Athletic" podcast and I think it was Laz who said he heard from multiple sources that it was not fully JC's decision to change up the system and that there was strongarming from upper management. (If that's what you are looking for an explanation for).
They also spoke about how the locker room was "Like a mourge a couple weeks ago"... I don't know who else that falls on but the coach.

What are the Hawks most glaring flaws
I think your experiment here sums it up pretty well. There's no "Good" defenseman on this team. Gustafsson's regression has caused this team to have the same start as last season. If Gustafsson can pick his play back up this team will be fine as every team needs a defenseman that acts as a 4th forward. Murphy is a good shut down guy, De Haan and Maatta are still getting acclimated, and I think the lack of offense is because Colliton fails to stick with what works. Meaning, Strome is suddenly a winger, Dach is on line 4 with plugs, Kubalik finally gets put on a good PP unit and he scores (shocker! A good player needs to play with good players?!). It's simple, give the best players the most ice time.

I don't know if the analytics support this, but for me it's their breakouts. They're slow, lazy and predictable. As a result, they always seemed penned in their own zone and never get quality offensive chances. Again, I don't know if the numbers back that up, but those are my observations. Their CF% is terrible, so they're obviously getting outshot and outchanced, so I imagine they're below average defensemen also have a hard time getting the puck out

Europe
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>It was a preseason game. Crow was <em>horrendous</em>. Remember when we beat the Penguins 10-1? We didn't make the playoffs; they did.
Nylander has had a marginally positive Corsi and xG in all of his outings thus far, despite his linemates being negative. The lack of effort is legitimate criticism, but you're just trying to find a scapegoat. According to that logic, Kane ought to be sent to Rockford then.</div></div>
Sanity prevails.

Regardless, I don't think it will deter Euros coming over as much as you might think. Trades would happen with any team they go to and such is life.
And I'm going to miss that celly too.</div></div>
Yeah wonder how it will affect Kubalik...
Youre most probably right on the euro prospects signings but it may make some hesitant.

Bowman what is wrong with you
#1- maatta is solid despite what you may think. He needs a change of scenery. I think he’ll be good for you guys
#2- no way Pitt trades Dumoulin for kahun.
It was a good trade for both

Resign Gus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Roviet_Sussia</b></div><div>I'd argue his defensive game will flourish under Colliton even more so than it has already, but you're right; it won't be a marked improvement.
Paying him $5m is definitely rich for the Hawks considering what they have coming up soon. This roster banks on a Seabrook trade, and it doesn't account for Crawford either. I'd say everything points to a walk come July 1st, 2020 (as of right now).</div></div>
I don't think Seabs is going anywhere. His clause is strong, he loves it in Chicago, and it isn't his fault Stan gave him that contract. He deserves to retire a Hawk, in my opinion, but honestly, no one is going to take him without a sweetener none of us want to give up. It took losing Teuvo to shed ONE YEAR of Bickell's contract. Imagine what it would take for someone to swallow Seabs' contract whole, assuming he'd actually be willing to waive (which he won't).
I see them resigning Crow. I have no idea what to expect term and dollars wise, and I think Lankinen's performance at IIHF clouds the waters a lot. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a one year with Crow, Deals splits time with him pretty evenly (unless one or the other ****s the bed), and then after 50 leaves town Deals slides in, with Lankinen behind him? Who knows... I guess we'll see.

Resign Gus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>No my friend, he is not. He is a crap defenseman. His brain is not geared for making those snapshot defensive decisions, because his defensive instincts suck. His offensive instincts, however, are great. But again, he's a goddamned Dman... We have plenty of offensively minded, puck moving defensemen who are coming. Wasting 5 mil on Gus is a recipe for failure. He will NOT be getting better defensively at 27; you either have it, or you don't. And he does not.</div></div>
I hope he will prove you wrong jack.

No, you are definitely wrong. It has been almost assured that Boqvist is going back to the OHL to develop for at least one more year. He is a stud offensively, but has a lot to work on with his defensive game. Not NHL ready yet.
