MASSIVE W FOR MONTREAL
We are paying Suzuku 925k for another year and then paying Suzuki this until he is 31. Perfect contract for our 1C

This will look amazing in a couple of years compared to the 8M+ contracts getting handed out

Bergevin once again swings public opinion back to his side. Every time people don't think he does anything well, he gives you something like this to prove it. Great deal.

Shane Wright
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>There's no first rounder included in the trade. As we can see, it's only to give away Byron contract. But yes having Shane Wright and Nick Suzuki as our top 6 centers would be incredible and if we have a bad year (let's be honest, the atlantic will be difficult this year), we can have a surprise at the lottery and be lucky enough to draft that guy.</div></div>
Got it, you guys wont be bad enough for that imo so I was thrown off by how youd get Wright

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>I think I'd switch Crookshank for Jarventie. I'm not a Sens fan but I think Jarventie is better.</div></div>
Yes Jarventie is a better prospect because his upside is really high. He could be as high as a 1st liner. However this thread is for the 2022-23 season and Jarventie will only turn 20 y/o in August 2022. He'll probably need another year of development
Crookshank is most likely a bottom-6 player but the kind that makes your team hard to play against. He can score too. I see him becoming an all-utility 3rd liner, like a lesser Connor Brown actually

No UFA - future outlook
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>It looks good. I don't know who is Schmid but I like Nico Daws too as your future backup.</div></div>
Thanks! Daws and Schmid are very close in quality and potential from what I've read / heard. Daws struggled in German league this year though while Schmid was awarded best goalie in the USHL so I decided on having Schmid as the backup.
For next season I think Schmid and Daws will compete with each other for the 2nd spot in the AHL, 1st spot initially going to Wedgewood.

Letting Go of Kotka
Dont trade that first unless its for Eichel. The metro is really strong. That first might end up top 15 in one of the best draft in recent memory... PIT, WAS, NYI, PHI and NYR could all end up in front of CAR especially considering they dont have a solid goalie

A C and a RD before the season starts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sam_Qc</b></div><div>Yeah Clarke, Faber, Spence, Grans and Durzi have a lot of potential. For the top LD, Bjornfot is not a future top pair D ?</div></div>
Bjornfot and Andersen have shown that they could be top-4 as support/shutdown guys to Doughty (and hopefully eventually Clarke/Grans). But I believe Blake was aggressively trying to get a Werenski / Dahlin type player that would compliment Doughty and basically take his role as he gets older. This was before drafting Clarke though, so maybe that plan has changed.

In that MTL trade, take on Koskinen, retain like 1m on Drouin and simply ask for a first. The draft is in MTL and having 2 first would be nice

Makiniemi is also pretty good. They have a few in the pipeline. They still hold the rights to Jack Lafontaine who was a monster in the NCAA this year.
