Huge retool part one.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ExpiredmilkYT</b></div><div>Maybe, but Hanifin's offensive numbers are meh. It's just his draft position that gives him a ton of value.</div></div>
Maatta and Hanifin have the same numbers but Hanifin has 83 points in 3 seasons compared to Maatta who has 93 in 5 seasons

as a penguins fan I gladly take that trade. I would think Carolina would want maybe Sheary or Rust in that deal

first off buddy you can't get Zadina cuz you are trading for the Canadiens 2019 1st round pick. gotta read what year you are doing buddy

Arizona isn't getting Karlsson for 3 reasons 1.) don't wanna give up young players 2.) not giving up picks 3.) only want to get to the cap floor to lock up Strome, Chychrun, Keller, and their other young players

I like this idea. the only thing though is if im trying to trade for a defenseman from Carolina I would rather have Hanifin than Faulk. Hanifin would it right in with the young players

thats why they are staying at the cap floor so when the rookie contracts of Keller, Strome, Perlini, Fischer, Dvorak, Chychurun and others expire they can sign them and not have to trade them or other players they like that they signed

ARZ off-season + Orpik cap dump
I like the Orpik move, but if you haven't read up on anything then you would know Arizona only wants to get to the cap floor this season so signing Grabner and anyone other than Arizona's free agents won't be a possibility this season unless its for like $950,000

If a Karlsson Trade Happens
so first off Buffalo isn't trading for Karlsson cuz they aren't contending this year or next year. And Carlson, Taveras, and JVR aren't coming to a team that doesn't have Karlsson. and draft picks can only get a 3-year deal work $925,000.

I got you on the Montreal trade. I offered a worse offer for Drouin and Pacioretty. lol. id rather not see JVR in Pittsburgh. he has had a couple nice seasons but he will probably want more money than Neal. If JVR wants 6 plus million its gonna be a little harder to keep a few guys/ sign a few guys. And Neal is a guy who can play on the wing with Malkin if Hagelin is traded and possibly Kessel

why not have Neal back? ik he is 30, will be 31 in September, but he has been the most productive winger for Malkin, besides Kessel, and idk if kessel remains in Pittsburgh. Also I don't think Montreal offers that much for Brassard. I think we would need to add a 1st round pick and maybe a 2nd round pick

GMJR Wheeling and Dealing
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>It’s cause dmen tend to take longer to develop. He had a solid 1st year and opposition adjusted. Just needs time to make his own adjustments. And I don’t think he has been that bad per se. It’s more of a team D issue imo. I don’t think Letang or Schultz are good partners for him simply cause they play too high risk and he doesn’t have the speed to get back when they screw up. I think he does better with an Ian Cole/Oleksiak type that will sit back and let him be more offensive.</div></div>
yeah true. I mean its hard to watch the pens with Schultz and Letang making mistakes which I see puts more pressure on Olli but I would like to see Pittsburgh get another Dumoulin type defender to play with Schultz so Maatta can slide back with Oleksiak

GMJR Wheeling and Dealing
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>Sheahan’s qualifying offer is 2075000.
Grabner fits the pens style so it’s not really a waste for them.
I agree that Patches isn’t worth that haul to the pens. But also it’s not worth it to the habs either.
The trade with the wings is pointless and just a trade to make a trade. Literally trading a 3rd line winger for a 3rd line center. Is the fact AA can play center really worth the extra picks involved when he already has a higher cap hit?
The only hole to fill is a 3rd pair RD and that can be easy to find. Hoping Riikola fills that hole.</div></div>
thanks. its hard to judge pacioretty's value as people say he will garner first round pick and more, AA is a dumb trade I do agree there, idk what I was thinking and I forgot to look up Sheahan's QO. and did you read my team explanation. thats why I made some of these moves. I don't understand why Rutherford likes Maatta so much. he's had so many chances after he has come back from cancer and shoulder surgery. are they still banking on him returning to his first season in the pros or what. I think he needs to be moved to add another defenseman

Trades With The Entire State Of Pennsylvania + DET & OTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J_Sand3rs</b></div><div>The thing I like about Bjorkqvist is the fact that Dallas is in desperate need of Centers in their prospect pool. Jarry wouldn't be a bad pickup. He'd even be a great one. The only issue with that is that he's likely going to be a starter sooner rather than later. Bishop still has 5 years left on his contract. With Oettinger & Point, we have plenty of time to develop them. They each still have 2 years left of college, and then likely 2 years of AHL time before they sniff the NHL. I don't see Dallas giving up on one of their 1st round picks from last year for a guy that likely isn't going to start in Dallas for at least the next 3 or 4 years. Honestly, I don't think Pittsburgh would want Oettinger either. Murray is a young goalie, and has looked good for them. On top of that they have DeSmith and Jarry who are both very capable, and could probably be starters on a few teams in the league. I don't see why they'd be in the market for another young goalie prospect right now. Perhaps you could shed a bit of light on that?</div></div>
true. I was just wondering, but Pittsburgh is likely to part with either DeSmith or Jarry

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J_Sand3rs</b></div><div>First, thanks for the feedback.
From a team like Dallas it's gonna be tough to get Oettinger's rights. They have had such terrible luck developing goalies (Campbell, Bow, Desrosiers, etc.), and it looks like they finally have two prospects (Point & Oettinger) that could be the future of the team in goal. Until one of them really distinguishes themselves as THE #1 goalie prospect, I think Dallas holds off on moving either of them. I think they will eventually move one of them, but I don't think it happens this offseason. Give it a year or two, and I'd be able to give you a more accurate trade return for one of the two.</div></div>
what if Pittsburgh took out Bjorkqvist and put in jarry? then would Oettinger be available? and in my time watching the world juniors and the NCAA Hockey Playoffs Oettinger just didnt look comfortable, and point looked more comfortable in net granite all that can change this upcoming year

o'rielly is nice but he's just a "poor mans" Sidney Crosby. they are both excellent defensively but O'Rielly just doesn't have that offense that Sid and Geno have down the middle. he is more reliable defensively than Phil but again doesn't have the scoring touch
