detroit only says no because they are rebuilding but really if im detroit id rather have Skinner than AA. in 3 seasons AA hasn't produced more than 33 points and wants more money than detroit wants to give him so if im detroit im considering that trade.

His numbers are as good as Hanifins plus he has playoff experience and is going to be cheaper long term. If you're already giving them rights to Jarry I really don't think that they need to give up much more than that. No way would I give up a first round pick just for his rights.</div></div>
ok. I added a first round since the intention would be to sign Hanifin to replace Maatta. maybe take out the other first and the 2nd round pick then to make it fair. I think a change of scenery would be nice for maatta to try and reach his potential. I like maatta but I think Hanifin would be an upgrade

true. ever GMJR made a trade a couple weeks into the season to grab Oleksiak. but I would think that if Sprong came up in December thats like a big move but you're not giving up and players or picks you're just bringing up a good talent

yeah. I should've put in 1 1st round pick but I wasn't 100% sure if that was enough and maatta isn't the player everyone thought he was when he was drafted and then had a remarkable rookie season

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>My honest feeling was they let him sit in WBS last year for 2 reasons. The first is log jam on R wing. The second was contract year. If he came up and played good, they would be stuck paying him this year. But because he spent most the year in WBS they get a few years of him on the cheap now. I don't think they they sit him in WBS a full year again. If that happens he is probably getting traded. Once he comes up though that's it, because I believe he is no longer waiver eligible.</div></div>
Sprong is a good player and one of the reasons Sullivan didn't play sprong is because he knows he isn't very strong defensively. let him play a little bit in the AHL this season and then bring him up about mid-December or so

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>This is a clueless statement.
Jordy B is a great young prospect. He racked up 92 points in the defensive WHL. he averaged over 1 goal a game.
Sam Militec also racked up 92 points in the OHL. Averaging over a point a game.
Both their stats were comparable to a Dubois who Columbus drafted 1st round.
Then there is D'Oreo aka the cookie monster. Which is the reason they agreed to trade away a good goalie prospect last year.
So to say there is no talent coming out of the Pens organization is absurd. They excel at finding good college players and undrafted players with talent.</div></div>
I never said they had no talent. I said they don't have a huge prospect pool. yes Pittsburgh is a place where undrafted player and college free agents excel but they don't have top end prospects. Jordy B and Sam M will be better versions of Conor Sheary or they could be even better and be like Guentzel. who knows. both of those two had monster years last year but thats one year which isn't enough to be considered high end prospects

Hunwick is worth at best a 6th round pick and the pens other than Sprong don't have a huge prospect pool. Jarry could be trade for a 2nd round pick but here I have him traded for Hanifin

its a tough question to answer since GMJR has come out and said he wants to "shake up the roster" for the upcoming season and the only way I see that happening is if you trade your picks. he wants to capitalize on Crosby and Malkin's time left in the organization. id probably say yes on stock up on picks but I also want Pittsburgh to be competitive for the next 8 years

Jim Rutherford has spoken about Daniel Sprong playing for Pittsburgh full-time for 2018-2019. Sprong will need to prove he can score consistently. The Penguins will need to weed out prospects who have been in the system for several years and are running their courses.</div></div>
You got it right on the weber front but I forgot to add Victor Mete if that would help at all. and ik what Rutherford has said about sprong but there is a reason Sullivan never played him when he was up for a short period of time. and Pittsburgh does need to keep their prospects but for a winning team its also hard to get prospects if you keep trading 1st round picks to get players to help win a cup and Pittsburgh does seem to "hit the lottery" on undrafted free agents and college free agents

its something letang would his NTMC for I would think. or you do a three team deal where Mete, Weber, Sprong, '19 1st round pick (MTL) go to Ottawa, Letang, '19 1st (PIT) to Montreal, Karlsson, White/Brown/1st or 2 2nd round picks go to Pittsburgh. good deal for all 3 clubs. young scorer and a veteran leader go to a rebuilding club in Montreal, a capable defenseman and hometown boy and pick to Montreal and an elite defender and maybe pick(s) or prospect go to Pittsburgh as they save on cap for this season

true. but its still a trade for both sides to look at. Karlsson wants out and Letang is hurting Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh is looking to retool the team to get as many cups out of the Crosby/Malkin era which is something they couldn't do in the Lemieux/Jagr era

true. its just kind of tough to judge his value since its at an all time low. but would you think a combination of Letang, Sprong, and a first and 2nd would be enough for Karlsson?

A step in the Penguins improving their corps of defensemen would be trading Kris Letang. The Penguins played better without Letang when he missed the remainder of the 2016-2017 season. Letang had issues with turnovers and giveaways in the 2017-2018 season. He also has a high dollar contract the Penguins would like to shed to create cap space and improve the roster.</div></div>
I do agree with you on this but the one problem is that who wants letang. he played his first "full" season in 3 years cuz of a stroke and neck surgery so I don't see big market out there for him unless you trade him and a pick or two and a prospect or whatever Pittsburgh has for Karlsson and thats even a stretch. the pens D has played better with him out of the lineup cuz they are free to play the game they can cuz they don't have to makeup for his mistakes. id give letang some time to start the 18-19 season to see if he returns to form or not

I believe they will be competitive just for the fact they will have Malkin and Crosby and Guentzel and Letting and Murray but still have to keep talent around them and stay healthy. but as long as the cap keeps going up about 5 million every year things should work out just fine for the time being

Athanasiou is technically a free agent since he signed a 1 year deal last year. you don't have to trade for a RFA. you can sign them like a UFA but if you sign a RFA you lose draft picks depending on the AAV of the deal
