Are you going to elaborate at all? Give a rebuttal? I'm a Pens fan and I think this is a very reasonable return.

1.) A stud center prospect in Suzuki. Could easily be a 1(B)Center or 2C.
2.) A solid, cost controlled D-man that can produce.
3.) A 1st round pick that could be quite high, if VGK regresses at all.

Maybe you could add another pick or prospect, but the trade is completely fair.

Picks and prospects do not help the pens. Pittsburgh always trades their 1st rounders away, so I do not see them trading an elite winger in a package for a 1st rounder. Suzuki will need some time to develop, which doesn't help pittsburgh in their win now mode. If he turns on solid, good. But he's not going to make an impact for them right now. And if pitt wants a solid dman on the 3rd pairing, why wouldn't they keep phil and sign one who is cheaper and just as solid?

A prospect that'll need time to develop, which pittsburgh cant wait for. And the pens rarely draft in the first round because of their situation. I just don't see why the pens would trade an elite winger for prospects and draft picks when their window is shrinking every year. I say they need established players who can contribute immediately, not in a year or 2.

1.) Suzuki could easily take Brassard's place after next season.
2.) The decent free agent defensemen who could be signed to fill the 3rd pair are expensive and/or old. So no thank you. I'd prefer Theodore who's younger, better, and cheaper.

You can look to the future while still enhancing the present.

I don't get the logic of Vegas not being able to keep Neal and Perron. Money won't be an issue. Admitting both could walk, just because they are UFAs. You have shown it be trading 6.8m Kessel without taking any money in return.

He could easily take his spot based on what? He will be 20 (around there not too sure his exact age right now) with no NHL experience. For all we know, he could be a bust and the pens screwed themselves. Im not willing to take that chance at all. And the pens can find a 3rd pairing dman if they wanted to. Petrovic from Florida for example would be a solid addition. Maybe bring back Cole, even though its unlikely. But the point is I'm not willing to risk the end of the Crosby/Malkin era just to trade Kessel

But they dont need a guy of that caliber. Wouldn't you think it would be better for them to keep kessel and sign a solid 3rd pairing guy or trade for a different one? Most likely not as good as Theadore, but someone who is not a liability
