Is this fair for Zegras Be Honest Please
Ducks fans will gonna said it's a good offer.
Habs fans will gonna said that's too much.
BUT, I think Anaheim will gonna want minimum quality element in a return for Zegras, and if our 2024 1st round pick is in the 8th-9th overall range, we can make that deal.
Don't forget that Zegras have a back-to-back more than 60pts season, imagine if he hit the 80pts mark with CC22.......

(ANA/MTL) - Perreault for Mysak
Oh wow. I like it as a MTL fan. Mysak is going to be a bottom 6 NHLer at the absolute best. Probably is more likely to be a forever tweener. Perreault is certainly boom or bust at this point but has a higher ceiling so its decent gamble. Habs need more high end guys and less of what they have in Laval right now.

#48 overall pick in 2020 ..... versus ..... #27 overall pick in 2020 who actually played a NHL game before, who is also from Montreal and is the son of a former Habs player
That's a win for Montreal in my book.

I don’t hate it from COL but I don’t love it either. I like Allen a lot, Evans is solid but I really dislike that 2nd year especially taking Allen. COL needs to be in the $1M and under range for the 4th line, back up goalie and 6/7 dman. I think you can make it work with one of them being over a $1M just not both, but like I said I don’t hate it

Me personally. Probably 2nd and a prospect. Not sure what prospect though. I like them all. Lol. MAYBE jack Hughes
I like what he brings to the table.
Not sure he’ll garner a prospect like Hughes so idk. Maybe Madden.

Which players Habs should choose at the 5th overall pick
Agree with all the comments here:
- 1st (8.5%): Bedard
- 2nd (8.6%): Fantilli
- 3rd (0.3%): Carlsson / Michkov / Smith
- 5th (24.5%): Carlsson / Michkov / Smith
It gets more debatable should the habs drop in the draft, I think:
- 6th (44%): ???
- 7th (14.2%): ???
Best case scenario, Michkov would also drop to 6th or 7th, but it's hard to say.

Yeah Michkov has so much untapped potential, I can definitely see him has the 2nd best prospect behind Connor Bedard. he only slips due to the fact that he's at least 3 years away from coming over to North America.

Which players Habs should choose at the 5th overall pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlafCaufZuki</b></div><div>It's simple.
We can all agree that Bedard, Fantilli and Carlsson will be gone by 5. Michkov SHOULD be gone by 5, but if some GMs buy into the Russian scare, he could drop. If he's there at 5, he's a must pick. He's one of the most skilled players the draft has seen in years, you'd be crazy to not take him at 5 if you're the Habs, a team that needs more elite talent desperately.
If Michkov goes top 4. You take either Will Smith or Zach Benson. I think Benson is a bit better overall, but he's small and Smith is a better fit for the Habs. So I'd be really happy with either of them.
Picking players like Reinbaucher or Dvorsky over Smith or Benson would be a disaster in my opinion. We need to go for talent and upside.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Big_Papa20</b></div><div>If Michkov is there I’m for it. I’m willing to wait and Bobrov is close to the situation so if Smith is gone I don’t think it’s far fetched</div></div>

Dubois and Mantha
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>They were in the same situation with Trouba a few years back and what they got was far worse than this (and Trouba just had a couple of really solid seasons). They didn't wait for the TDL either claiming what you just said. That top 15 pick is extremely valuable and we only have to wait one year for Dubois to sign with us without a trade (= better draft pick next year as well). I think for MTL to accept, youd have to replace Hoffman with Armia to make it worth it for MTL and switch that first for a 2025 one (with the condition that they get the lowest of both).
As for the Mantha trade, reading what's being said about him on Twitter and on the caps subreddit, it's clear that this guy isn't great at all and on his way out, and with that contract, Id rather ask them for a first (like with Monahan) and not send any salary back. Just something like Mantha and a 2024 first for a 3rd.</div></div>
Friedman was saying PLD once OS and Artbitration is available loses value as he's already declared he wont sign term as an RFA .
Apparently no teams willing to match what Dubois will get on an OS in their trades because he's unlikely to re-sign and if he does it will be for a ridiculous term and caphit.
He said all the cards are in Hughes hands and by doing nothing he might have the biggest impact as the rift between Bowness/Chevy and PLD grows wider and wider .
I think it was 10-13-2 since the 50 game point including a 5 game losing streak and many multi game losing streaks.
Since the 50 game mark even MTL has those numbers and we're 5th last in the NHL , WPG was a top 5 team for a chunk of this season.
They're imploding and getting greedy with their returns as if they hold the leverage and there's people lining up to out big MTL.
Its not the case , not like it was for Duchene who MTL was happy in hindsight that they lost
If we trade for him we also lose our ability to do it on our terms.
OS gives us the leverage and if he's desperate to get out he'll take less term and a higher cap hit then so if WPG matches it would basically make them a non contender by proxy as they won have the cap to skate a 21 man roster with half them on ELC or league minimums . If we offered him 1 year x 8.4m WPG cant match and if they do its out of spite knowing how much it will truly cost them especially if they'd hoped to use this last TDL to make a profit off him as the OS will be greater then what they could get now. Some guys want out but im not sure they're all like Kotkanemi looking to stick it to his former team as Dubois has been open and honest about his intentions for years before he had to be just so they could make arrangements they failed to.

Question to LA Fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>IMO, Bergevin is fairly good at assessing trade value, he traded a 5th-round pick for Edmundson less than 3 years ago. Pair that with the Kings having a very large analytics group, and you can sort of see the writing on the wall. Someone will pay for Edmundson but it will be a team closer to a win-now window, the Kings need a younger and more offensive talent at LD, they need to be a large improvement from Durzi.</div></div>
Bergevin traded a 5th round pick 3 years ago to acquire Edmundson UFA RIGHTS tho
The rest I agree with you

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>The Kings GM has the old Habs GM as his advisor, I don't think someone with such intel on the team would spend so much on Edmundson, he isn't the long term answer the Kings are looking for.</div></div>
I don't think your argument about Bergy being an advisor to Blake holds the weight you think it does, with respect. Edmundson is the kind of guy Bergevin would be aggressive in acquiring.
