What happened?</div></div>

Actually, you know what? I'm not gonna rage quit. I woke up furious, but it'd be very immature of me to make a scene because of that. (It's also a very impractical way to lose one's team.) But here's what I was mad about.

On Sunday, Whisper says "...and it's a deal" regarding a Matthews deal, and then he flip-flops after having said that. He says he'll hold onto Matthews for me, but Zach, apparently unaware that Whisper had said that, snatches him while I'm asleep. Thus, Whisper broke his promise to me twice.

And yesterday, Booth makes a Justin Schultz sweepstakes, and judging by his comments, I would've won it. But he pulls a fast one that stuns everyone but Werenski when he calls off the sweepstakes, again while I sleep. Why make a fake sweepstakes for Schultz when he had that Faulk deal in his back pocket?

I'm still steaming mad, but to ragequit over this would be unprofessional. Besides, I have free agency coming up... probably.</div></div>

Welcome to the GM game. Unfortunately it happens all the time. That's why I've started cutting the time I will spend on a negotiation down.
If I make a proposal you like and you are already in the middle of something, fine, I'll wait a bit for you to finish. If you run around trying to get more or start a bidding war, I'll probably drop out.

I <em>try</em> to negotiate in good faith, but have had to compromise a little so as not to put myself at too much of a disadvantage.
Not everyone does business the same way. I've missed out on quite a few players because it is typically a one-sided approach.

My advice is to just accept it for what it is. Not everyone has integrity and you'll learn which GM's are good to deal with and which ones you have to have a little/lot more patience with before you even pick up the phone and steel yourself for the negotiations.

I keep saying this is an unnecessary complication:
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>3. Home team gets 10% discount of the best offer made. They can then match the discounted offer and keep their player, or let the opposing team get the played that was bid on at the original bid. Section 3 is a prerequisite for being able to get the 10% discount</div>

So are we going with open bidding?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>FA Setup
1. Each team will publish an entire and complete list of the FAs that they wish to place bids on.</div>

So the teams that submit their lists the earliest are immediately going to be outbid. (for teams that go that route) :-/
Edit: Caught this later "2. See Ricochetti’s Spreadsheet for how to bid on players privately***" That should probably be the first option.

The method of determining which players sign and when is flawed, imo.

I would say all players with bids on them after 24 hours are dealt with at once.
24 hour reprieve to deal with those players and sort out who goes where, then another 24 hour window.
Free agents would be figured out and signed every second day, giving people time to check into new targets in between.

I strongly disagree with sign and trades, <strong>unless</strong> it is a player who's rights have never been traded.
- Doesn't make sense for a free agent to agree to it
- Hurts your GM rep with free agents looking to sign in the future
- Encourages GM's to bid on players they have no intention of keeping just to stockpile

If a player's rights have never been traded, it can be treated as an <em>extension</em> and trade.

I think that's it. I'll let you know if I see anything else.

It is with great displeasure that I announce that I will be forced to leave the GM Game as of tonight due to real life circumstances. It was a load of fun playing this game, but I must focus on my studies and avoid any distractions on the side, which is why I've decided to stop to playing abruptly. Besides, I am already hated by many GM's, so I guess I may be doing the game a favour by leaving. Thanks to all of you guys for being great to work with. I may be potentially interested in staying in some sort of administrative role in this game, and may return as an AGM in the future, but I feel as though it's best to call it quits for now. Again, it was fantastic to participate in this great game, but for now at least, I must say adieu</div></div>

Damn, gonna miss you buddy! Hope the circumstances are not threatening in anyway. Not sure if I read somewhere that its due to Studies? If so than I believe you are making the "smart" choice. That's a dad joke. :laugh

Take care buddy! Florida will gladly take you as an AGM when you decide to come back! Cheers!</div></div>

With that said, the liquidation of assets you are doing is clearly unfair and especially so for the person taking over for you in the future.

I ask the board to have all these trades reversed as they are clearly being done at a whim and not with the teams best interest at heart.
