Eichel and Pool Party - Geo to SJ

DeAngelo is better value that Jo in a straight up trade. Any team would take DeAngelo over the 2 choices 10 out of 10 times. I’ll admit Eichel is worth more than Strome plus two 1sts but you also gain a win in the Tony for Henri part of the deal too.... so it’s starts to close the gap

And I admit I don’t know what Buffalos trade needs are but I’m assuming you want a center in return for Eichel and a RHD so you can move on from Risto (in a separate trade)

Strome is nowhere near as good as Eichel but to be fair... he played bottom 6 on crap teams before coming to NYR. As soon as he was giving a shot he put up 30 points in 60 games as a Ranger last season and 60 points in 70 games. Plus he’s defensively reliable and an RFA that will likely resign long term for cheap. Which is important for Buffalo. He’s also a Top 5 pick of his draft. He’s always had talent just no opportunity
Also... find me another offer where the other team gives back 100-120 points of 2 cost-controlled RFAs entering their prime PLUS two 1sts

What needs to add? I figured a 50-60 point C.. and 50-60 point Dman (both players RFA too) and two 1sts would be enough

Eichel is no doubt a phenomenal player but there’s no way you get four 1st rd picks if Z is one of those pieces. He’s an 80-100 point player at this point just like Eichel. And then add a young 40-50 point defenseman and 2 more 1sts. That’s crazy man
I could see something like Strome, DeAngelo, two 1sts, and a young NHLer like Howden for Eichel and Risto

Sergachev who says no
I definitely think TB adds to the trade and not the Rangers. Fox already has scored more points in 1 season then Serge has in 3... is better defensively... is cost controlled for 2 more years.... and is right handed
The only thing Serge has over Fox is he is 4 months younger and you’re splitting hairs at that point.
Honestly, there’s no need to trade Fox for Serge. I’d be open to trading someone like Lindgren or Rykov with a few adds to even it up tho. TB will need to shed some Cap before next season

Labanc is a 40-45 point player. You’re getting a cheap cost-controlled starting goalie that isn’t a dumpster fire

Was gonna take a shot sending him down thru waivers to see if he gets claimed (for the extra cap relief) or call him up if one of the rookies doesn’t make it opening night

I'd rather people say that's a little bit of an overpayment instead of making your trade request seem like your the biggest moron on this site.</div></div>
Yup. People can be brutal on here which is ridiculous because none of us know what we’re doing and this whole GM mode is to kick around crazy ideas anyway.
Question... why is Melker and Sorensen included in so many of these trades on here? Is it a cap space thing, rookies pushing them out of spots or have they fallen out of favor with fans/management? What little Sharks games I’ve watched I thought they were both good players

As a Ranger fan I would take the trade even without the 2 picks. You guys definitely get the better players in that trade but we need the cap space. It’s a win-win for both teams

Dion is definitely worse but for 1 year and a fraction of the cost I think it’s worth it. He’s been a captain too so I’m sure he can teach the rookie Dmen some things as well in his 1 year stop-gap role for us

Yep. Agreed. I think Names gets traded and Smith bought out before the season starts. And then at the deadline.... whether we are in a playoff spot or not JG moves Kreider then. He’ll get a boatload of assets especially if he retains 50% like he did with Nash. Could you imagine if we actually made the playoffs.. got the youngsters some playoff experience AND turned around and had multiple 1sts and 2nds again at next years draft

I think if Strome centers Breadman for a good portion of the season it could really raise his trade deadline stock. I would hold off trading him til then

Honestly, I think I would rather just Buyout Smith and Staal and not pay sweeteners to offload them. I think Shatty could have a bounce back year if healthy
I don’t wanna see Kreider traded but I understand the logic behind it. I don’t wanna pay him 7x7 or more and that’s what he’s gonna want

True but they need to sign Point this year and it puts them in a position to Buyout Shatty next year with only a minimal 2 year cap penalty

A lot of money is coming off the books in 2 years... Hank, Staal, Shatty, Smith, and Girardi’s buyout. I think all of our RFAs this year will be signed to 2 year Bridge deals. Buch gets 2 years at 3.5 million

Risto- Fox- Breadman- Shesty- Krats- Kakko
Since Fox has stated he’s testing FA... I don’t see anyone giving Carolina more than a 3rd rd pick or a player equivalent to a 3rd round pick.
But honestly, what is Risto’s value? I see a lot of Buff fans complain about him but then want major pieces for him in a trade. I’m assuming they would want a Dman back so would Buchnevich and Pionk work? I don’t see the Rangers trading high picks for him. What are Buffalo’s major needs?

I agree... Ottawa would want Foote but I just dont see TB giving up Sergachev, Hajek, AND Foote over a 4 month span. That is pretty much all of their top notch Dmen prospects.
I think they end up overpaying with more picks and O prospects in order to keep 1 of Foote or Sergachev
