Campbell for Anderson
The difference between these two cap dumps is not 2 firsts.

That's a bit of an overpayment to dump Campbell, even if Anderson wasn't going back the other way.

Campbell for Anderson
Instead of Anderson's cap hit of $4.6 million* for three seasons, and slightly smaller compensation, I think Edmonton is better off biting the bullet for six more months and then buying Campbell out at a cost of $10.5 million spread out over 6 seasons, the cap hit never exceeding $2.6 million, and keeping the two firsts. RW is not a major weakness for the Oilers.
Late edit: original formulation had $900,000 retention; half a million makes this idea even worse for Edmonton

seems fair ish
Sorry to say this again, but just thinking out loud... Our prospect pool is better than yours which is saying very little LOL. Remove Kane, because we simply don't need another injury-prone forward on a team that usually leads the league in man-games-lost lol. Here's the counter...
TO EDM: Jake Guentzel ($2M retained) and Pierre-Olivier Joseph
TO PIT: 2025 (not 24) 1st, 2024 2nd, 2025 2nd and Brett Kulak

They've been at the top of the standings all year and have just added great centre depth without losing a significant roster piece. Kuzmenko is significant... I think they are 2-4-1 without Kuzy in the lineup

I wonder Would teams do this Helps them for other moves themselves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stevo989898</b></div><div>We will rock with CP, he is playing well.</div></div>
And very possible and I agree. I can the Oilers making a small depth move for a forward with size only. Mainly because they have been playing extremely well and looking unbeatable.
During the win streak they did not play a single top 5 team if I remember correctly making the streak a little easier.
If Oilers keep up their winning ways of around .600 or better hockey til the deadline, the best move for them is probably a small depth move and they forgo any idea to clear Kulak. Better to keep chemistry then change when all is well.

Savard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fran615</b></div><div>Glad that both sides of that trade proposal are in agreement.
Habs also would decline, and prefer Savard 100 times out of 100.
I guess this trade is refused by both teams.
If there's no upgrade on both sides, better keep the player who is liked in the team, shows leadership, knows the system, etc.
Bourgault is speeding towards bust territory as well, like Lavoie 2.0.
I am a Habs fan but wish the Oilers to win the Cup. Love that team!
Cheers guys.</div></div>
Tbh, I think Lavoie will be an NHL player. His shot is NHL caliber and has redefined his game a bit in the AHL. I can see him being a middle 6 forward, given the opportunity. I was never a fan of Bourgoult and hated that we drafted him.
Also, I see some Habs fan like Savard and some don't. I don't watch the Habs, but just stats wise, he's -47 thus far in his career as a Hab and has horrible analytics. He's also 33. I know he was fairly underrated a few season ago, but it seems like his best days are well past him.

The Oilers have figured out their goaltending and now have time to figure out what to do with Campbell. This deal, although fair for getting out from under Campbells contract, doesn't make sense right now.

Nah. I don't think they want to get slower down the middle. Monohan looks good by counting numbers but he's getting a lot of PP time, which wouldn't translate to Edmonton. Also, I happen to think very highly of Akey.

I could see this. Depends on how’s he’s performing. If he is feeling good and ready I think he waives. If he still needs time to really get back to old self then he stays

Yes, exactly!
I like Nurse too, don't get me wrong. I also like Ceci, but he's much better suited as a 2nd pair dman. Hopefully we get another RH dman to play with Nurse.
