Calgary finally replaces Matthew Tkachuk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Meier resigns in Calgary for 8 years at 9 mil/year.
If SJ is willing to retain 50% on Meier Calgary changes Phillips to Zary and uses the extra cap space to pick up a pretty decent defenseman.</div></div>
Interesting that you have cgy re-signing Meier for 9m per, in your scenario, cgy will only have about 5M in cap space for next year.
And to pay for it, you would have get rid of Backlund for free and will have to add another 1st rounder cause no one is taking his 5.3M cap hit.

Weber, Stone, Lehner all on LTIR. All depends on how long Stone will be on LTIR. It could be one of those...forever kind of things. If it is....Miller cap hit, 8M, Stone's cap hit 9.5M Easily done. I don't see Vegas standing pat and risk missing the playoffs again.

Neither was Pietrangelo. But they would be new to Vegas. I don't think Vegas wants to risk two years in a row of missing the playoffs

Would either team do this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Not one knowlegable Leaf fan on here has ever posted a trade with Kerfoot as a main piece. He's a cap casualty and that's it. He can add value as a bottom 6 F to a lower end playoff team, but no one has ever said he's worth more than a 3rd. He's either depth or a cap dump in any realistic trade.
And honestly, for every Leaf fan that thinks Kerfoot is a value piece, there's a Canucks fan that thinks Tanner Pearson is a value piece.
#micdrop
Rhea, that was for you.</div></div>
You have been around long enough to know that is not true. Wonderful world of denial. Here are just two quick ones from the lefies
Proposed Trading Kerfoot + a 6th rounder for Tanev and a 4th rounder. Here is one of the quotes "In terms of value: Kerfoot >> Tanev"
And so many called him "a quality 2C" not just a river my friend.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rhea</b></div><div>Lol, you lost man get over it. 😆Look them up yourself, there are plentr of metrics that you might think support you...but you will soon find they won't. Quick question for your brainy self, when he is paired with Rielly or when he is in the top 4...is he still a bottom pairing? He has been used as a shutdown against top lines and at the end of the game too.
I get it man, you don't know about anyone outside of your team but why bring attention to it? One more thing, if you think your team wouldn't jump at the chance to get him you are as clueless as they come.
Just let it go man, if you want to say you won...be my guest because I am bored of the same moronic takes over and over again.
You're right reelkena, it is not just our fanbase that has these guys. 🙂</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Don't worry Rhea I can come in on this one.
Just don't worry about it. These guys think think Schenn is a top pairing dman and should garner a high pick, when by their own TOI metrics, he's playing bottom pairing minutes..............
Not all Nucks fans hate me............. reelkena and mv21227 are both knowledgeable Canuck (and hockey) fans that I (and you) get along with just fine. There's a number of other ones too.
T_Hip you do realize that Liljgren was supposed to go first or second in his draft year, but fell due to the fact he contract Mono and couldn't play for most of the season.........the Leafs got a steal at #17. He was actually slated on par with Hischier and ahead of Patrick, Heiskanen and Makar. That being said, Makar obviously should have been he #1 pick......but just think: If Liljgren was healthy that season, Makar might have fallen to #5 and you'd have him. That must hurt.
At the end of the day, Dmen usually take longer to mature. It's a fact. Wingers progress quickest, followed by Centers, Dmen and finally goalies. Leafs have been patient with Lilly, and I'm thankful for it, because we almost ruined Luke Schenn's career by playing him 20 minutes a night as an 18 year old on a horrible team.
And honestly, who thinks Kerfoot is worth a ton??? I don't know of any Leaf fans that do. They usually just include them in trades as a cap dump..........</div></div>
Not once have I said Schenn is top pairing D man. But GMs know his value as a stay at home D man at the trade deadline.
Really, for the last three years leafies on here have valued kerfoot as a huge asset and not a cap dump. You are in denial if you say otherwise.

Sure you don't want to further support your nonsense opinion with other stats like plus/minus? Maybe jersey number?</div></div>
Go ahead and post some of these amazing advanced stats you speak of. Make sure you include them not playing against the top lines and getting less (and sheltered) minutes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rhea</b></div><div>Ok champ, this is all how stubborn Keefe deploys his defence. Look at any stats that matter and he is a very very good dman that should be top 4...where he actually does play a lot for us actually. I guess you are correct that he is playing third pairing minutes a lot, well except when he is not I guess. Your point that his trade value is crap because he is a third pairing dman is ridiculous because he sure as hell would not be third pairing if he was traded to Vancouver...just like he should not be here either.
Trade value is...now pay attention here, based on play and not how a player is slotted. I have no clue how you can't understand that.
Look at the real stats and try to back up your nonsensical opinion. I'm referring to the real stats that are meaningful and a reflection of how he plays and not how the coach uses him.
This is a baffling conversation. Dutchies since so many Canuck fans hate you already 🤣 (sorry I had to), do you have anything to add?</div></div>
Yep...you are right. All Keefe fault that he plays clearly EXCEPTIONAL d men like lily and San less than 800 year old Gio and forgettable D men like Holl and Brodie.
I am not saying they don't have value but it is no where what your and other leafers seem to think they have. These are the same types that figured dermott was worth a top 6 player and kerfoot (who is a clear cap dump) is worth a ton. There is a reason why almost every trade made by leaf fans involve getting rid of kerfoot, lily and San in some sort of combination. In their heart of hearts they know their real value and that is why they are so quickly to trade them away.

You are talking about facts and trying to act like a smart ss, yet you cleverly avoided checking the underlying stats...you know as I mentioned. Give that a shot. Then you might have a clue, but something tells me you won't. When Lilly is paired with Rielly on the first pairing to give him some stability....no no wait you are clearly the expert so forget those facts too.
Wait what am I talking about? Underlying numbers and fancy stats aren't facts. Thanks for educating me on...ummm something?</div></div>
Ok....Dailyfaceoff web site is clearly wrong then over the opinion of a leaf fan. And yes, the NHL web site is obviously lying when they post the players time on ice. Must be different from your stopwatch.
Your opinion is not FACTS. Facts are facts. Like when I say, lily and San have the lowest icetime of the 6 leaf D men....IT IS A FACT!!!

However, my understanding is Sandin and Liljegren are a very solid second pairing in Toronto, and if I were Toronto's GM, I would keep the younger Sandin if it was a one for one getting the UFA Schenn back. Even if Schenn re-signed in Toronto, I would keep Sandin and Liljegren alive and stick with Timmins as 3rd RD with Giordano. Word is the Leafs are trying to extend Timmins anyhow.</div></div>
Sandin and Liljegren are not second pairing. Look at their time on ice. They are third pairing.

The reason both team don't do it, it's because how useful both player are for they're own team. Not value wise in this case Van would need to pay more.</div></div>
Very easy to look at time on ice figures. He is NOT in the top 4 for Toronto. I know math is hard but......
He is bottom paining with Ras. Also, he does not play the PP.
