Hoffman is gone in 1 year. We can give him for free or wait to end of the contract.
Armia is too expensive on the 4th line but we wont pay to get rid of him.
Allen is fine as #2
Demko is good but Montembault is similar if not better the run with team Canada in 2023 was really impressive: 7games 1.42 0.939
Kidney + 1st pick + 2nd pick for Colton Dach is too much.</div></div>
Montembeault similar if not better than Demko you can’t be serious
That’s like me saying Nils Hoglander is similar if not better than Caufield

If Bedard says trade me right now and hang up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>That's like saying in 2015, Philadelphia wouldn't trade Claude Giroux for McDavid.
Bedard is pegged to be the next face of the league. Even if you can argue that a package around Hughes, Pettersson, and multiple 1st round picks would put Vancouver behind when it comes to building a team on the ice, they would still jump on that because the off ice benefits alone more than make up for it.
If Bedard was actually made available, Chicago could send out a memo to the entire league that says our price is our choice of any 5 players/picks/prospects, and you have to take back any contracts we feel are necessary to make it work. They would have multiple teams lined up to take them up on that.</div></div>
That's excessive, not even McDavid would get that kind of a return. Teams don't trade the upper echelon of players for picks and until Bedard proves himself no one would trade a top tier talent for him. It would 100% be a quantity return with a bunch of futures.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Vancouver would jump at Pettersson for Bedard so fast it'd make your head spin.</div></div>
No they wouldn't. While it's very likely he will be beyond amazing, no prospect is a sure thing whereas Pettersson is a 40 goal, 100 point center who elevates his game when the team needs him most and plays elite defense. VAN would trade anyone on the roster for Bedard except EP40, he's a top 5 player in the league.

VAN laughs and hangs up the phone, we get significantly worse and take on a terrible contract for a 2md round pick? Where's the logic in this? This deal wouldn't even go through in NHL 23...

Why do Montreal fans so over value their pieces. Like 2x-4x more than they actually are worth...
This trade is so bad for Vancouver it's not even funny..
Essentially we're downgrading on offense, while not even saving anything really cap wise. Super downgrading in net, like hilariously downgrading. NHL stud to borderline AHL starter...
And all we get is Edmunson? who doesn't help us.

Three cap dumps and a 2nd wouldn't even get Boeser (who is a little bit of a cap dump himself) far less Demko.

Edmundson adds very little value to the Canucks, swapping the late 3rd for an early 2nd isn’t close to enough. Would have to add Montreals 2023 1st + Barron for the Canucks to even consider

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>Garland likely has negative value due to his term, cap hit, and level of play.
I don't think Debrincat makes sense for Vancouver, but if we assume there is mutual interest between VAN and Debrincat for the sake of this proposal, Debrincat for Demko makes sense. The Senators need a goalie.
A proposal that would make more sense would be Debrincat/Forsberg for Demko/Garland. Forsberg has negative value until he can prove his injuries aren't an issue, it gets Vancouver out of the final year of Garland's contract and saves them a few million a year in cap for the next 2 years. Not to mention, they could buyout Forsberg in 2024 for a very minimal cap hit.
With that said, I think the Senators would prefer something around Debrincat/Demko without the additional contract swap. Their cap is getting tight, and I don't think they would want to risk taking on Garland's term, even with dumping the Forsberg money.
A more logical move would be Debrincat to a third party for a 1st and other pieces, and then the Senators using that return to enable them to send picks/prospects for Demko.</div></div>
Garland definitely isn’t negative value. Had a bit of a down year yes, but once Tocchet took over he was much better, and last season he was elite at 5v5. He’s a great 2nd line winger with a fair contract

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Personally, I think this is about even. Miller is definitely the more offensive capable player, but Kadri adds intangibles that Miller doesn't bring to the table - true center, very good on the PK, better attitude.
The question is, can Miller play under Sutter?</div></div>
It's depressing that people who don't follow the canucks come in and pretend they know the locker room.
JT is a great teammate and is well liked. Media made it up because they saw two moments on the ice and decided to creative their own season of big brother.
We keep the far superior JT Miller. (also a PK specialist now) unless you wanna give up multiple firsts for us to take your bad Naz contract.
Naz's only intangibles are getting suspended every playoffs.

Youth movement in Calgary
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>In fairness, what does > really mean!?
Better now or more Valuable in the long-run…
Also, Dach’s 0.359PPG wasn’t that much better in his first season than Pelletier’s 0.29PPG, especially given Dach played more games and received 100 more minutes on the PP than Pelletier did
I like Dach, but this seems like an over pay. Take out Tanev and it’d be more fair, but I’d consider adding Ruzicka + a Sweetener for something good in return as well, like perhaps Sean Farrell and get MTL to throw in Kovacevic too if we need an RD</div></div>
Realize that Pelletier has come into the NHL much older than Dach did. They are from the same draft class, so we have to look at how each player is doing now, and how much potential they have. Dach is much more valuable and Habs definitely decline that package.

trade seems fine. I wouldn't do it from Van side because I think it's a lateral move and the group really likes brock but it's fair for a guy whose gonna ask for more than he's worth in 1 year.

second Boeser idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Changing the subject again? This post is about Boeser not Mangiapane. However...
You're comparing a one dimensional slow lazy player sheltered with mostly offensive zone starts who's the 2nd worst plus/minus on his team (only OEL is worse) to a hard working two way player with good speed who's a plus player while playing practically the entire year (except the last few games) on a shutdown line with mostly defensive zone starts.
Boeser is nowhere near the player Mangiapane is. The funniest part is the shutdown player going up against other teams' best players actually has more goals than the supposed goal scorer in a sheltered role.</div></div>
for someone who comments on every canuck, in a negative way,you sure dont know there players.boeser is a top 6 winger, and a sure bet for 20 plus every yr.last time i checked mangipane wasnt exactly lighting it up.and no the canucks arent trading boeser for huberdeau.
