Pelletier > Dach

LMAO, definitely tears of joy Pelletier's 7 points in 24 games for a 0.29 ppg average is soooooo much better than Dach's 38 points in 58 games for a 0.66 ppg average!!!

I can't see MTL accepting this. Dach is an excellent player. Vlader is still a crap shoot as a starting goalie. I like Pelletier, but Dach is further along and the same age. Tanev is an aging vet that adds nothing to MTL's future.

0% chance.

In fairness, what does > really mean!?

Better now or more Valuable in the long-run…

Also, Dach’s 0.359PPG wasn’t that much better in his first season than Pelletier’s 0.29PPG, especially given Dach played more games and received 100 more minutes on the PP than Pelletier did

I like Dach, but this seems like an over pay. Take out Tanev and it’d be more fair, but I’d consider adding Ruzicka + a Sweetener for something good in return as well, like perhaps Sean Farrell and get MTL to throw in Kovacevic too if we need an RD

Realize that Pelletier has come into the NHL much older than Dach did. They are from the same draft class, so we have to look at how each player is doing now, and how much potential they have. Dach is much more valuable and Habs definitely decline that package.

I agree Habs decline, because I don't see how Tanev fits their rebuild unless they flip him for another 1st Round Pick + ?

I disagree that you would compare Pelletier to Dach now though. Dach was rushed in to the NHL too early, but he was also a 3rd overall pick and has much better size. Dach has far more experience, so even though they're similar in age, that doesn't mean they should be compared by this year alone. I do find Dach to be more valuable & intriguing due to his Size, Right Shot and Ability to Play Centre, but Value is in the Eye of the Beholder. To a Team right up against the Cap, they may value Pelletier and his $863k Cap Hit more, especially if they believe he'll produce just as much and is Better Defensively than Dach, which isn't unrealistic. I see Pelletier being capable of playing like Cole Caufield or Johnny Gaudreau as far as his potential goes

Both Dach & Pelletier are excellent Young Players, only the Future will tell us who will have the better overall career and who has the highest potential and production; everything else is just speculation

Actually it meets several Montreal needs.

Montreal needs a goalie, Vladar is a good backup with starting potential, he'll get the chance to start in Montreal. Pelletier is a hard working talented young Quebecois player with leadership ability, he'd very quickly become a fan favorite in Montreal. Tanev is perfect to fill the Habs hole at RD for next year while helping their young defensemen develop (he's proven to be a great partner for young defensemen) and he could be flipped with retention at the deadline for a nice return.

Meh, MTL probably just signs Free Agent RD Jason Demers and then we’ll have to go through the excruciating process of them wanting a 1st Round Pick for him at the deadline, like every other washed up Canadiens Player is valued at by them

What did Edmundson, Savard and Josh Anderson bring them at the TDL again this year?…

Pelletier > Dach

Absolutely not, you have clearly never watched Dach if you think that is even remotely close to true.

Like I said above. What does > really mean

Better or More Valuable? Each has their own intangibles and both have Bright Future NHL Careers

I’d rather have Dach, but Pelletier’s cheap and could put up similar offensive numbers to Dach next season or the season after and may even have a higher offensive ceiling

Only time will tell
