<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>"Issue" (if I could say) with Doughty is that there are too many options. But great to see you replaced him with a guy who "deserved" it.
Not really, Perry is a 4th liner, Getzlaf is a middle-six C and Toews's defensive game has regressed. Bergeron is still elite all-around and it's unlikely he regresses to the point of not making the team in only one year. He IS different than those guys. RNH is an option but not more than that. By the way, Couturier is more than likely to be on the team.
But I see you're an EDM fan and this is based on your personal preference. Overall, the team is similar to the one we'll see in 12 months.</div></div>
Yea, I guess I can see the case for Bergeron. Consistent Selke contention in your mid-30s is pretty impressive. Since the team will carry a few more than 12 FWDs, I'd say RNH still has a decent shot at being one of the extras but we'll see I guess.

True, but other than maybe Konecny, Tavares, and O'Reilly, there aren't too many fairly young forwards better than RNH that come to mind. At that point, my personal preference is just Nuge.

That line did well at the 2016 WCH but again, dude's gonna be 36. Crosby will be 35 but he's a generational talent so kind of an exception. Including Bergeron is no different than including Getzlaf, Perry, Toews or any of the other declining forwards from 2014. RNH being 7 years younger alone makes him more useful imo.

10 Canadian forwards had better numbers than RNH last year, nine of them are already on the team, the other doesn't play LW.
If by "a good amount," you mean 1, I guess you're right

Canada has more than enough good C options, but not as many LW options. Replacing RNH with a to-be 36 year old pure center won't fix that.
Agree with you on Hamilton>Doughty.

Probably not, there's a reason the Oilers held onto Pulju for this long. They're not just gonna give him up right when he's finally reaching his potential.

Same with hiring coaches. Fans get mad when their team doesn't hire the best coach available, but somehow forget the coach is a human being and has a choice?

I thought you'd figure it out easily but yes the Lucic part was a joke. But Nylander's contract is terrible nonetheless and EDM already has a plethora of that. And saying McDavid will request a trade is as stupid as saying Arizona will offer sheet Matthews. Stuff only fans of other teams who are miles up their own ass will say.

I feel like Pulju can still be a top6 FWD if his game just develops a bit which is why I left him in. Although, yes, Sergachev is more pro-ready.

Oilers are in desperate need of a puck moving defenceman, you're not getting Bouchard. And no way EK signs here again when he can contend for the cup on a real team like SJ.

I feel like he might leave money on the table knowing the team will be contending for years and no state taxes. I used Chiarot just as a placeholder but any UFA 3rd pairing D-man will do.

minor improvements
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FullSend</b></div><div>If this makes room for a bigger trade then meh there is some justification. But I don’t feel great giving Cagguila for essentially nothing. If the rumors are true with Spooner being shopped around and no takers then I can see a reason to just dump him. I don’t know about Kassian I feel like Hitch is trying to put him in a role where he succeeds, if he prevails he can be an asset and accept a morale boost.</div></div>
Assuming our D will be back healthy, Manning will have to move because it'll cause even more difficulties to our cap situation and Bouchard should be ready if someone is injured. We really can't get much of a return for an overpaid 3rd d-man. Giving up Caggiula was a bad move by PC in the first place. And I was a bit reluctant in giving away Kassian, but 1.95 mil is a bit too much IMO. But yea he's a solid-fourth liner and his contract isn't too long so could be helpful to keep him. And that's the last year on Spooner's contract so I thought Carolina might be willing to give him a shot to bolster their scoring and the contract would not cause too many problems for them.

Pulju's 20. It's way to early to say that. He'll for sure succeed if he's traded away. That's also why I signed him for 2 years instead of long-term, to prove himself one last time.
