Thread: Wpg trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>In his 18 year old season Laine scored as many goals as Svechnikov got points in his 18 year old season so yeah I get they're the two centerpieces of the trade but wanting something with more then two years of term isn't that much to ask to make up the difference.

Winnipeg is a tough sell to players, it's just the way it is so no I'm not thinking too much about the term factor in this proposed trade. Could this trade happen with one of Faulk or Hamilton going to the Jets, yeah but Jets management would be making a big mistake.

Without a doubt what I see on this site is people not understanding the value of term and way overvaluing prospects, some which have barely played in the AHL let alone the NHL.</div></div>

That last line I literally could not agree more with you but i disagree about hamilton being a mistake I think this trade to begin with is a mistake for carolina more than winnipeg but yes on a deal where both teams are sending a young stud player who can hold a offence on his own at times asking for more than a 2 year deal on an additional piece is wayyy to much for carolina to pay. But back to that last line you said i agree people overvalue the **** outta of players who havent spent a day playing in a best v best environment i think they way overvalue that but when it comes to a deal like this i think you are overlooking the fact that neither team can overpay and giving winnipeg and top 4 on a longterm plus a star forward isnt in there best interest i think you are missing the extra pieces value here in my opinion. But i should add its really nice having a good debate without either of us calling the other trash and stupid or some **** good on you man.
