Trading for a RHD prospect at the deadline
Sedins are 2 top 6 forwards still. Asking price for one top 6 forward is a pick and prospect. Plus at the deadline the Sedins will be significantly cheaper. I like that u traded them to Nashville bcuz they will be contenders. But fabbro and Smith isn't enough. Add in a couple picks and id be happy.
Gudbranson could get a little more than a second. This season he'll be good, we was injured last training camp and forced to play.
Vanek might get a second or third. Either or Id be happy

Probably, or everyone else in the league sucks at drafting.</div></div>
There was 5 other teams than myself. I chose price first and defence for 6-7 straight rounds while everyone went after the elite forwards. It was rottissery so I drafted price the burns...and so on.
My forwards are much worse than everyone else's but their defence and weak goaltending will level things out

What the Canucks should've done at the draft
Tanev has more value than Vilardi
Vilardi is so overrated man. And after Tanev leaves who replaces him. There's rumors Gudbranson may leave. We have a weak right side. U might as well trade for a draft pick to draft a right side defenceman or a proven one with Tanev.
Vilardi is not worth it, ik he's versatile but we have enough wingers. And with horvat and pettersson and gaudette as our 1, 2 and potentially 3 centres in the future there's no room for him.
U attack my trades and ur sending beauties like this out???

I'd rather we send all kids to utica to gel like our old regime did.
Sedins Granlund
Baertschi horvat Eriksson
Vanek Sutter Gagner
Dorsett Gaunce Burmistrov
Leave Boeser virtanen Goldobin Dahlen subban Demko Pedan MacEwen in Utica to gel together. Trust me it's better than them playing bottom 6 minutes with offensive blackholes like Sutter

That's so unrealistic.
Barrie is a terrible defenseman. His defence sucks, but his offence is quite decent. Thing is he's too old.
Canucks value Baertschi guddy and Hutton. Those three guys hold more value than Barrie in the long run, maybe even now

Signing UFA's to replace deadline TEARDOWN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Doug7004</b></div><div>
Yeah Flash, I don't think you are all that far off with the Toronto deal. Although I think it would have to happen before the start of the season, a first, along with a prospect, (Rychel, Nielsen, Lindberg, etc. ) or a pick (might have to be a 3rd or 4th) is probably about right. I do agree with Pal though, you'll never get a 2nd for Del Zotto, especially on a young team like NJ. Montreal trade is interesting, but I don't see them in the mix at the deadline so that might have to happen early. Aggressive ask!</div></div>
Thank you!
I didn't really know who to ship del Zotto to buts let's just pretend it's to a team that's needs a LHD at the deadline.
And palhal I get what ur saying now, del Zotto and new jersey wouldn't be good matches

Signing UFA's to replace deadline TEARDOWN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>DelZotto a second rounder? Especially could be 40th overall....C'mon. I doubt if Pittsburg or even the Leafs want those cap hits of Elder and Tanev in 2019. I'm sure the Sedins would only want to go a contender, and it's not the Habs.</div></div>
Gosh ur comment made me laugh
1) if del Zotto plays well next to Tanev which he will. A 2nd rounder at the deadline is realistic. Del Zotto is young as well
2) Edler for a conditional first is quite a nice deal. Its no secret Pittsburgh left side needs another top 4 guy. If they do win that 1st will basically be a 2nd anyways. PLUS IF TRADED AT THE DEADLINE PITTSBURGH WILL ONLY TAKE HALF HIS SALARY.
3) leafs fans know how good Tanev is and they would love to see Tanev and Reilly togther. Maybe id change the 2nd to conditional. But the first makes sense. Tanevs better than hamonic and Gudbranson and look what they got. PLUS IF TRADED AT THE DEALDINE LEAFS WILL TAKE HALF HIS ALREADY CHEAP SALARY.
4) Sedins would love a contender and since montreal has a Weber and price all they are missing is a top 6 cente and winger. Montreal is closer than u think they are just missing a top 6 centre. IF SEDINS ARE TRADED AT THE DEADLINE MONTREAL WOULD ONLY TAKE ABOUT HALF THEIR SALARY. AND ONE IS ALREADY RETAINED.
If you don't watch hockey enough to know any of these why respond? ;)

Question: If Vancouver drafts Dahlin do they still need to tank?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iamcanadian98</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>You know even a last place team has only a 30% of getting first pick. Canucks would have to be absolutely dreadful to beat out Las Vegas for last overall. And the Avs are serious contenders too. Anyway the Canucks don't have to try to tank, it's going come natural this season.</div></div>
I think Canucks fans are well aware of how the lottery works thanks to the last 2 years. And Even if they Draft Dahli9n, he is not a generational player, probably wont even be in the NHL right away.</div></div>
You don't know what you're talking about. Which makes sense u probably just make up facts as u go along. Dahlin and svechnikov are both generational talents. Dahlin has been watched since he was 14 and at that time they said his skills were similar to karlssons. Watch some of his highlights and you'll see why he's so valuable. And with svechnikov he's been said to be the next Russian phenom for a couple years now.
So pay attention before you make comments like that.
And to answer OP question, yes they should. If they got dahlin they'd finally have a number 1 elite LHD. Canucks still need a number 1 RHD for when Tanev leaves. And elite LW. Without dahlin they still need a #1 LW LHD and RHD. Boeser is a #1 RW. Demko could be a #1 goalie. Pettersson could be a #1 C.
BUT HERES THE KICKER: you don't need to tank to get #1 guys. U just need good scouts and so far we have them. Boeser was picked late in the 1st round and Demko was picked in the second round.
<strong>Canucks won't contend until they have a #1 LW,
LHD, and RHD! </strong>

I know u Toronto fans love Tanev but giving us career AHLers and a 2nd isn't fair. Look up tanevs shot suppression stats it's unreal, him and Reilly would be an awesome pair. But u gotta give up more.

Trading RNH for cheaper 3rd line centre
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dylan1995</b></div><div>We don't save any money on this trade... Haha not a good idea. Rather trade RNH for jarnkrok an a first round</div></div>
LOL RNH won't get u that. He's a 45-50 point producer who isn't very good at faceoffs. Jarnkrok and a 2nd would probably work tho. But again, RNH has a ridiculous contract from a past oilers regime that preds might have a hard time taking on
