Kadris good but that's a huge overpayment. Good target for the pens too.

Over payment??!! Common. Kadri is a 30g 4.5m x5 26yr old. Lol. A late first and a salary dump and a couple prospects that no one knows. Lol.

Hagelin is not a salary dump type of player. He's worked hard for his money. He's a great two-way player. He's one of the fastest skaters in the league. He's shown great chemistry with Phil Kessel who's also one of the fastest skaters in the league. Hagelin scored 27 pts in 37 games in the 2015-16 campaign where he played with Kessel. If you whip out your calculator that's a 60 pts pace. Although in 2017-18 kessel played with Malkin and Hagelin played anywhere from the top to second to third line which is why his production dropped. Hagelin is also great defensively and his speed allows him to rush back when the other team is starting an offensive rush. He's used on the PK

why do pens keep on believing that hagelin is good value at $ 4m a year. On the leafs he would be the fourth best left winger. and even these pens of 1st round draft pick, aren't that relevant. likely a high 20s pick. it's not a first rounder from the sabres, or devils. just no immediate value for the leafs in this trade. the leafs aren't deep in centre anyway so they have to then obtain a centre. but the leafs would like a rhd, maybe the trade for Schultz and more then the leafs listen.

So a winger who wouldn't add any value for the Leafs, some meh prospects and some very late picks as this team could win the presidents trophy? No thanks.

Try to consider the needs of the team you are trading with. Leafs do not need wingers + draft picks for their skilled shutdown center tied up to a peach of a contract.
