In my opinion this might be the most realistic post I’ve seen. Nicely done.

Idk think over hyping crouse. In Edmonton I can’t see him getting top six minutes and Edmonton can’t afford that term landing in the bottom six. Oiler fans wanted to run foegele out of town last year because he made 2.750 with one year remaining. This would ultimately replace foegele in oilers depth chart moving forward but much more expensive and much longer term. I would agree he is worth every dime in Arizona but the role he would end up on in Edmonton is different and will very quickly change look of the contract.

? It’s a dumb deal for Edmonton. Dumber to suggest it will take more to move a league minimum contract. Bonus attached stays with Edmonton.

Crouse
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>Crouse isn't overpaid, and even if he is it would be by a couple hundred thousand, Jack Campbell is an AHL goalie making 5M, it's laughable to compare the two
And again, Broberg and Bourgault aren't "quality young players", they're guys who would be lucky to land regular roles in the top six/top four, especially on good teams
This is an issue of you overrating your own assets and trying to underrate/undermine other, actual quality assets</div></div>
Heavily disagree but to each there own.

Crouse
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>The two 1sts alone, at least, are simply to dump Campbell. If we give you the benefit of the doubt there that means Bourgault and Broberg are the value for Crouse, and neither of them have much value at this point. They're not anything Arizona doesn't have already, and certainly not something they can't live with out, especially at the expense of Crouse.</div></div>
Crouse is also overpaid so why does he carry enough value to land two quality young players but Campbell costs 2 firsts? I personally wouldn’t want anything to do with adding Crouse he isn’t anything the oilers don’t already have a bunch of just more expensive.

I heard Philly is going to resign seeler because of his impact within the dressing room extremely well liked within the organization. That being said I’m an oilers fan fairly distant from Philly so something can change and not know.

I truly do try and find a positive or at the very least try to understand what people are thinking when making deals but I’m beyond lost on this one. Overpay is an understatement. I’d recommend deleting this attempt and trying again.

As an oilers fan I’d be willing to add a late pick plus a B level prospect like kemp or lavoie. Think this is a good move for holland to get aggressive on.

Adding fluery is an interesting conversation but the important question would be is he ok sitting in the back seat come playoffs? I’d like to add his experience and is a big upgrade on an insurance policy. I like giving skinner another highly accomplished vet to spend time with and work out with see a lot of value in that but what if fleury at this stage wants to be the guy for another run? He controls his own destiny and there are American markets he could be the guy in like New Jersey. I don’t think it will happen or work out but I do like the thought of it.

Keep broberg for insurance for this playoff drive. Having him as a number 7 d can be far more valuable for Edmonton than what Boyd could add to this roster. thats Just my opinion I haven’t watched or payed attention to Boyd this season so it’s completely possible my opinion is off. I don’t view him all that much different than Derek Ryan who by playoffs is very likely to be scratched.

Restocking the Cupboards - Offseason
There was a point this season Boston could have very likely gotten even more out of Edmonton but skinner bounced back extremely strong and removed this from being an option. Could very easily get at least that from another team.

Can’t see Edmonton doing that. Walker has been having a good year not taking anything away from that but it’s a fair debate on who’s better ceci or walker and if it’s debatable it’s not a sizeable enough upgrade to justify moving anyone off the oilers blueline and messing with chemistry. I understand ceci doesn’t seem to get much credit on this site but he’s been solid.

I’d much much rather VD over walker. Bigger better on pk. Honestly don’t see a need or point in walker. He’s too good to sit in press box but really tough time considering a better option than any of the 3 rd currently on the team.

Ceci has played top pair minutes two of the last three years on a team that’s had a tremendous amount more success than Zub has had in Ottawa. You might be heavily underestimating what he’s done in recent years.
