ahhh didnt realize he was ltir only reason I suggested cause I knew how bad he has been thought it might offset the value of kap and tanny

VAN and MIN Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>He'd probably make their defense better, but not that much they'd move Kappy for it.
Offensively Barrie and Kappy brings almost twice what Tanev and Leivo does. That's also important for a full-offense team.
Defense is important for them, but they should not get that much weaker offensively to upgrade defense just a little.</div></div>
so was just looking at stats and some analytics
kappy and leivo almost equal slight edge to kappy
barrie way better offense (not as bad defensively as I thought)
tanev much better defense his points probably stacked a bit playing with hughes so it really comes down to what you value higher defense or offense I've changed my mind a bit after research
kap>=leivo
barrie>=tanman
so all in all probably bad for tor but it's not as far off as some would suggest
side note would you consider
ceci and kap for tanman?

VAN and MIN Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>Tanev seems good for you only because he plays well with Hughes.
Doesn't mean he carries value for TOR any more than Barrie.
For them, Tanev's no upgrade from Barrie, so ofc they're not doing the trade.</div></div>
see that's where your wrong tanev has been really good for along time not just since hes been playing with hughes hes made pretty well every dman hes played with better the only knock on him is the injuries and he would be an immediate upgrade on actually playing defense for Toronto's tire fire of a backend dont get me wrong they can put up points but there trash at helping keeping pucks out of their own net which is exactly what makes tanev so valuable

think it's pretty equal
van probably says no cause of how well tanman and Hughes play together even if kap would be the perfect winger for bo

A trade that makes sense for both teams
this is bad for van.... Lind seems to be projecting to be just as good if not better than Jones and stecher is miles better than guhle this makes van worse now when they're in the playoff hunt not to mention jones would probably not even crack the roster right now and have to go to Utica where they have a ton of lws right now

Van trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>So unless they have changed the rules, my understanding is post Kovalchuk's CBA breaking contract a person's annual total income can not change by more than 30% from one year to the next and the highest paid year can not be more than twice the lowest paid year. Thus you can't have an average contract of 7 million for three years that can reach 11 million in its last year.
For example if the last year is 11 million, then the lowest amount the first year can be is 5.5 million. Then because of the 30% rule it could only go to about 7 million the second year, then it still couldn't even reach 11 million.</div></div>
that's interesting I'm not sure on how that works because I was looking at meiers contract his works out to year 1: 4mil, year 2: 4mil, year 3: 6 mil and year 4: 10 mil so I'm thinking it may have changed because if I follow what your saying he would have to have his lowest year be 5 million not 4

Canucks at deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TML1991</b></div><div>noone is giving up a 1st and a 2nd for chris tanev. You honestly might have to give up assets to move Tanev, he's a complete band aid, that isnt anything more than a 5/6 defenceman.
Same goes with the Eriksson trade , except that contract is even worse and have no idea why anyone would touch it, let alone boston.</div></div>
I'm not saying the trade is good or bad but in all honesty calling tanev a bandaid 5/6 is laughable there's only 1 defenceman on Toronto better than tanev and that's reilly Gardiner and zaitsev may put up more points but tanev is still a better defenceman
