Massive Nashville trade Read trade deception
The whole ‘like Hagel’ doesn’t count because they were paying that for his contract he was on (3 x $1,500,000) at the time of the trade

we've been able to put together strong teams (on paper, cap wise, i know the playoff history) with 3 10M+ now when the cap went COVID flat, what makes you think we couldn't do it as the cap goes up in the future?

Leafs 23-24
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>Thats a different situation entirely. Regardless of the playoffs, if Matthews or Nylander can't or won't be signed, then trade one. But to make the trade just because is stupid. If the Leafs fire Dubas, I am going to become a fan of whichever team brings him in.</div></div>
and so what im saying is IF we don't make it out of the first round again I'd give it a pretty good chance that at least one of them will end up walking if we keep them, hence why a trade could occur and it wouldn't just be "for the sake of it". Unless they extend in the summer a massive trade wouldn't be out of the question at all.
And I agree Dubas has done a great job - I won't switch teams over it but it would be a mistake to let him go.

Dumo is not getting a raise. Especially from the pens. They could use that to sign someone like Graves, Soucy, etc. also what did you do with POJ? And Ty Smith should be up next season

The all in move for TOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>McCabe has a 7 team NTC on his contract.
Long shot, but the NHL has 7 Canadian teams. I'd wager the list includes these teams.
That being said, I find the trade rather interesting. Just don't see TOR moving Murray at this stage, their goaltending needs some actual playoff experience, I wouldn't trust only Samsonov being enough (Stalock and Woll aren't exactly groundbreaking assets).</div></div>
The list includes 6 teams from Canada. Toronto is not one of them.

The ROR trade isnt great, its quantity > quality here. Need to give up quality. Looking to have to give up closer to what you did for Meier

But he will easily get that if Savard, Chiarot etc can get a first he can easily get a first since he’s making only 1.45 contending teams would 100% give up that for him at the deadline no question

After the draft realistic
I’d rather get Holl if I’m Columbus, if he plays well they can keep him if he struggles they can let him walk, low risk high reward move for that.
Muzzin is just a bit old and his contract doesn’t fit the timeline. McDonugh would be coming into the final year of two of his contract when Columbus is ready to be competitive, Muzzin would be expiring and moving on by then. I also don’t see muzzin waiving to go to Columbus.

I agree, Lou just does not want to send Varly away as he is Sorokin's friend and mentor.
I think if a 1st was offered the Isles should accept immediately.

Then it's a viable option perhaps as long as they aren't forced to buyout Mrazek. Then it just down to the goaltending situation and if they can extend Bunting (if not then getting him would have to be weighed against that).
