Take out Willander and the Canucks accept. Also if Kuzmenko held that much value the Canucks would just trade him themselves for a similar package.

Minor Moves
I don’t think that Greenway is a player Vancouver should target. They are already getting great results from the bottom six, and there is enough size throughout the lineup to warrant a playoff run. Vatrano is intriguing, but ultimately the acquisition cost will be far too high for a guy who is having a career year and will likely never repeat this level of production. That being said, at the moment Vatrano will cost much more than Kuzmenko alone.

Vancouver is one of the best teams in the west, even with their high PDO. I can definitely see them making a run provided some good luck on the health front.

Brzustewicz is our third best prospect behind lekk and willander, and with his play style being very similar to hughes, it’s tough to see where he fits long term. I would only move him if it meant a significant upgrade at forward ie: lindholm or guentzel.

would probably rather keep soucy at this point. Guentzel + 3rd for kuzmenko, podkolzin, a 2nd and a 4th probably gets accepted.

I thought his hesitations were simply because of calgary. His production this season does not make him more expensive than horvat, def more towards debrincat if anything

strongly disagree. Myers has been better this season, and has one year left on his contract. In no world does that warrant a first rounder being sent with him.

completely depends on whether calgary is looking to retool or rebuild at this point. I was contemplating using prospects like podkolzin instead of kuzmenko and adding retention to make the salary work. Lindholm makes vancouver much better, and given the oel buyout having large implications on our future cap situation, it would make sense to see what this team can accomplish this season.

Why did they trade 17 for Hronek
Allvin wants to compete now, while Pettersson and Hughes are in their primes. Hronek is more of a guarantee than Sandin-Pellika or anyone else available at 17 is, which prompted a trade.

I don’t think any of this makes sense. Miller has a NMC. Even if we were to trade Miller and Demko, why would they turn around and sign Dumba to a multi-year deal. Either commit to the rebuild or not, mediocrity helps nothing.

If the Leafs just do this to make a change, I don't think the results will be favourable, not in the short term, nor in the long-term.</div></div>
My argument would be that Nylander should be valued at at least 2 million below Pettersson. I believe that an 8.5 x 8 deal is what he deserves based on his career up to this point. He is definitely a comparable to Timo Meier in my mind. This deal would be a panic move from Treliving in hopes of shaking up the core while still being a top team in a competitive division.

I believe that JT is an absolutely phenomenal hockey player and the Canucks are lucky to have him. That being said, given the fact that it looks as though Miller is already starting his decline before his deal even starts, he is bound to face a certain backlash from fans.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>This trade would be terrible for the Leafs because once Miller falls off or starts getting injured, they won't have much talent that will supplement that. They also already have Tavares as their 2C, and while putting him on the wing might help them get more out of him, that probably doesn't happen without Nylander or Marner on the other wing. Tavares-Miller-Järnkrok is probably going to kead into a dip in production for all 3.
This trade for Vancouver would be great, especially if they can retain Nylander. Personally, I don't think it's the end if Miller's contract becomes an albatross in Vancouver, as long as it's after year 3 and that Pettersen is getting paid like 10M and not 12M+. However, I think Nylander in an elevated role could produce 90+ consistently, the caveat is that he probably costs Vancouver 10M.
It may be manageable even if the core ends up being Pettersen 10M, Nylander 10M, Hughes 10M, Kuzmenko 8M, Boeser 7M, Hronek 6.5M Demko/goaltending 8M (~65% of the cap on 7/8 players)</div></div>
Miller and Tavares Would def need to be separate since they play fairly similar styles. I’d estimate that Nylander would sign under 9. As long as Miller does not fall off a cliff and continues to be at least a decent 2nd liner, his contract will be manageable. By the end of his contract, the cap will have gone up substantially, and 8 will likely be the standard for quality 2nd line players. Boeser will either walk or take a significant pay cut, so that will give the Canucks a little more breathing room. I like the idea for both teams because it seems necessary to shake up the core, whilst also maintaining a competitive roster. I think a Miller + Mcdonough + a 3rd for Nylander with an extension could be a fine move if Treliving gets desperate.

Yeah I think both teams gain from the move, especially if Nylander signs long term. I personally do not see room on the team for Brodie and his cap hit, but AB for Brodie and a mid round pick would def be something to look at.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CM_Insane</b></div><div>Miller is worth more and does bring more to the table then Nylander. You have 3 very similar players in kuzy, Nylander and Boeser. Is Nylander a better scorer than the other two i think its debatable between him and Kuz. Also I'm not a big fan of Compher I think his offensive ability is getting looked on favorably when he's been in a mostly protected spot in Colorado at 5m I think whoever signs him is going to regret it.</div></div>
There is no world where Miller is worth more than Nylander. Nylander is younger, similar offensively, much better defensively, and will be on a much better contract. Nylander adds much needed speed into the top six, and you can never have too many guys who can put the puck in the net. I agree that Compher is not worth 5 million, but I believe that a combination of him and Rodrigues and provide apt secondary scoring and positive defensive results.

That's true, that could go to any team looking to reach the cap floor. I do not think that Van would be opposed to parting with a mid round pick to make it happen either.
