The cursed fansided expansion article
In theory using an expansion tool like this would make sense if you A. Wanted to do an article with minimum work and B. Didn’t know much about what you were covering. If you put sh*t in, you get sh*t out, but in this case they don’t care about what is produced... only if you clicked.

C+ prospects are not players who are very likely to make the NHL like Reichel is. If you want to say hes projected to be a middle six player with close to a guarantee to make the NHL at least, that to me is a B+ prospect. Even with that, he was worth the draft pick he was given so youre saying connor garland is worth more than 2 first round picks after a singular breakout season</div></div>
LOL B-/C+ WOW that is a bad analysis

Lines vs Tampa tonight
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tyler_A10</b></div><div>I’m not ready to give up on Stillman yet. The turnover wasn’t great but that goal was all on Lankinen, who has been really bad recently. I just don’t think the sample size is high enough to say that Stillman doesn’t have potential to be an NHL caliber defenseman, especially on a sheltered third pair. But I would really like to get more Beaudin and Mitchell games. Hopefully we go young next year with the defense.</div></div>
My issue isn't that Stillman can never be NHL caliber. Its that he arrived to the Hawks and has been GIVEN 100% NHL ice time despite being bad. Not even 1 game in Rockford to learn their system.
The other D prospects have had to EARN their NHL ice time and still can't get it.

I don't understand why Mitchell and Beaudin aren't getting opportunities in the lineup, If they aren't going to play send them down to the minors, I'm sick to always see them as a scratch or on the taxi squad. I also want to see Gaudette in the lineup and see what he is capable of doing to determine whether the hawks protect him or resign him.
Also Keith's mustache is lookin 🔥🔥🔥

Off the board picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bunnymcfoo</b></div><div>No dice on the Middleton pick from San Jose - he doesn't have the games played to meet exposure eligibility.</div></div>
It not NHL games that determine eligibility, it is age. Griffon Reinhart did not play 40 games in the NHL and he was eligible
He has played more than 3 seasons in the AHL (post 20 yrs old) so he is eligible

Off the board picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bunnymcfoo</b></div><div>While I realize that people keep saying that the rules are the same for the 2021 expansion draft as they were for the 2017 expansion draft, they do differ in some key ways and eligibility seems to be one of them. <a href="https://www.nhl.com/news/seattle-kraken-2021-nhl-expansion-draft-rules-same-as-vegas-golden-knights-followed/c-302586918" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">According to the NHL website</a>, this time around players have to meet a minimum number of games played <em>at the NHL level</em>. Jake Middleton simply has not played enough games with the Sharks to be exposed to the Kraken, which is confirmed by that link you so helpfully provided - it says that he needs another 26 games to be eligible.</div></div>
I'm not looking to get into a long argument here so i'll just say, your not reading that article correctly.
The "Games played" requirement you're referring to has <strong>no impact on an individual player's eligibility</strong>
It is a requirement of each <strong>TEAM</strong>, to expose at least 2 forwards and 1 defenseman that are <em>under contract</em> and have played at least <em>40 games</em>
What this means is: Just because a player has not played 40 games does not make them exempt,
Only 1st and 2nd year pros and unsigned draft picks are exempt
this article below may help to make it more clear:

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tyler_A10</b></div><div>I will make this very clear, I have a feeling you arent a hawks fan so I get why you wouldn't know this. But there is a 0% chance Brandon Hagel is left unprotected. He has been
an incredible revelation this season on the hawks. Hes tenacious, got great vision, elite forechecker who also is great on the PK and he never takes a shift off. He is imo the 4th forward we protect after Kane, Toews and Debrincat. Then we protect Strome and its a tossup between Borgstrom, Gaudette and Nylander for those last 2 spots.</div></div>
Thanks for the input!

I mean Dach in 13 games has 7 points, Cozen in 32 games has 11, and considering Dach had a serious wrist injury to come back and play above a .5 ppg and play on the pk and pp unit is pretty good

I wasn't really paying attention to who I scratched, lineups aren't how I expect them to be, just the players I think/want will be on the roster, You can see that because, Muz is on the top d pair, and Engvall is on 2 line.

Already looks like a GOAT draft class

Hawks Next Year read description for thoughts on any of my decisions
Overall I like the write up. You put in a lot of good thoughts.
ANA is going to want a lot more even if he's a pending UFA. To be fair to our prospects in relation to other team's prospects...what you're sending to ANA isn't really impressive. Unfortunately for Krys, he'll likely be sent to the ECHL next year. Shanulov may never come to the NHL. If you want to send Zadorov, Alex Vlasic (possible Lindholm replacement) , and a 2nd...that would be closer IMO. I don't have any issue acquiring Lindholm, I just think it'll take more.
I'd like to get a better backup goalie. Nothing against Subban, he's serviceable and he does excel when he's under pressure. It's just a dangerous situation to actually WANT him to be under pressure all the time. I need him to be more consistent and give up less rebounds.
I'd also like a true top 6 forward. Can Hagel be a top line guy? Who knows at this point. He gets better every time I see him play, but my expectations for the kid aren't that high just yet. I'd allow him more time on the 3rd line to provide maximum effort and a scoring edge.
